I'm rather surprised that people here are treating boars like they're nothing. A wild boar is not to be underestimated at all. They can and did kill people in the past.
Even on medieval times, hey had to be killed using traps and special spears to stop their charges because the fuckers have the habit to continue their charges down the spear impaling them.
They're tough, strong, stubborn and clever. It's no surprise she couldn't kill them with a wooden sword; and even then the hit she received could have caused broken ribs without her strengthening.
