Thanks for the chapter!

God damn it, what's the point in having sex with prostitutes if not to learn the lesson "do whatever you want to women during sex. Do whatever turns you on and makes you feel good because then you'll enjoy yourself more and your dick will get harder and it everything will feel better"

Ok so i will take the time to correct a misunderstanding on what kind of services a prostitute offers, i had to do my student internship at a psychiatric clinic for my psychologist degree, and while doing that i had to make profile interviews to the admitted patients, and among them there were several sex workers, however everything i am about to say can be checked by a quick google search, this is all public information, but people don't know because talking to sex workers is actually not a common experience people have

Prostitutes, and formally defined as sex workers, who are part of the broad adult entertainment world, exist to offer sexual relief, and that's it

Their jobs don't cover nor include satisfying nor meeting unhinged sexual exploration and demands, nor guiding teaching or tutoring about sex to inexperience or curious people

In fact before taking a service the client has to specify everything that the service will cover, time, the amount of contact, the kind treatment if the worker offers role play (the kind of language and behavior to be used in the act), the level of commitment (hand job, oral sex, coitus, anal sex), the use of condoms, etc

All that is defined at the moment of contact with the SW, before making the payment, which means the client or John, should already know before hand what they want to do with the SW, and how they are going to do it

The sex worker has the right to also turn down a client, so if they all really had found the protagonist as someone disgusting they would have turned down the job

And the duty of a SW, is to just relieve the sexual tension of the client within the paid time, by the amount of times paid off, everything else beyond that is seen as extra service or good chemistry

Only a small amount of sex workers would actually offer the risky service of meeting and or satisfying the wild fantasies of allowing anything someone wants, and the small amount of those that offer such services are either way too expensive for the protagonist to afford, or riddled with issues like disease and drug addiction so in order to sustain their addiction they take and do whatever comes their way exposing themselves and others to danger

It also seems that most people who take the service of a SW, don't do it in order to meet any particular wild or strange niche fetish, but just to have quick non committal sex, and move on with their lives, what is known as a quick nut, and among those it is even smaller the amount that uses the opportunity to socialize with the SW and "unwind" talk about themselves

Loneliness, and social isolation, was thus a big issue that these kind of people faced, and a factor leading to them being hospitalized, maybe it was because i meet them in a medical environment, but kindness is a common trait i could find in all of them

As for people victims of sex trafficking, because their pimps closely watch their times and monitor their lives, they have to do a quick job, meaning that sexual encounters are even more restricted, while an independent sex worker may spend time talking and chilling with a client and even bond or build a superficial connection, someone that has to answer to a pimp would cut the service ahead of time as soon as a client reaches one orgasm, however this topic is a whole different beast to tackle in just a manga forum

So for the protagonist, and his personal issues with erectile dysfunction and low self esteem, he should have gone to a sex therapist instead, on top of also a regular therapist, which man that's a headache to even thing about

Also if he wanted to learn and explore how to properly pleasure a woman he should have gotten a girlfriend (or use an app for casual sex, which carries its own risk, for example most women in those apps, don't use protection, but they will offer you a learning environment), i know easier said than done, but good sex is at the end of the day communication

In resume, a sex worker wouldn't have helped for none of the issues the protagonist has, but, even with all that said, he acts like way too much of a giga virgin for someone who allegedly has been brothel hopping enough times to suffer an existential crisis mid insertion

Very interesting summary. I do want to add a caveat that what Jirou went to weren't mere prostitutes but "soap girls" ie soapland workers. This is essentially organized and legalized prostitution with terms and conditions and all that jazz. It's a very controlled environment with management and security. And they do absolutely get to turn you down if they don't feel comfortable with you.

In these environments it is somewhat expected that you will actually have a chat with the girls in addition to the sexual services they provide, so you can get to know each other, ask questions, etc.. Many of them will chat you up in DMs as well, not just to set up what you will do but also to keep somewhat of a relationship with you (of course with the intention that you will come back and make an appointment with them). This is why all the girls Jirou visited were super nice to him and complimented him, it's par for the course in those services.

It's not just soaplands either, a lot of Japanese sex work revolves around escort/girlfriend experience in addition to the sex part. Only what are called "tachinbo" (ie prostitutes on the side of the road) do a quickie and end it there, most others work more similarly to an escort where you have a social aspect to it (though don't get it twisted, it's still like 80% sex)

Just wanted to add that cultural nuance here for those who are not familiar. But what you said still holds 100% valid in that it's ultimately transactional and the girls will absolutely not just let you do whatever without prior agreement. There is usually security in the case of soaplands or emergency contacts in the case of escorts if you try anything funny. In the end sex work will always be just that, work, a transaction between two people with agreed upon terms.

Does anyone feel like this? Because I do. I broke up with my long term gf because I didn't think I was enough and now I'm in my mid 30s and can't find anyone even when I try. I know I just creep people out. Im not fat, I work out, have a stable job, own a car, shower everyday, groom my face and hair and think I have a pretty handsome face. I just can't talk to people and Im kind of scared of women now. I feel so alone but I feel like I'll just spiral like MC if I ever did find anyone again and it's most likely because of how much I do and fap too just like MC. I really like this manga so far. I feel heard.

The guy was so focused on sex that he forgot to just be a person first: a person worth getting to know.
Yeah like this chapter is very much the classic insecurity/egotist trap. Looks down on the plain girls and the "monkey like" guys to convince himself he's better than them.

Dude both desperately needs some friends and also that "better than" attitude is a friendship/relationship killer.

I just can't talk to people and Im kind of scared of women now.
Legit do you do any kind of meetup/club/volunteer type thing? I think that's sorta socialization w/training wheels for adults. ETA: I'm suggesting this cause I go to tech/math things w/ folks all over the place on the social skills spectrum.

On the contrary, if he had truly learnt the lessons of rape manga this wouldn't have happened to him. The chad misogynist who sees women as toys would not have had this problem. Instead he was the virgin woman-pleaser.
Well, you see, good sir, this is the first woman he cares about. From this ensues that he doesn't want her to hate him. It's even mentioned on p.18. That's why lessons learned with prostitutes and in rape manga don't apply here. The only problem with him is he doesn't know what will really upset her. Lack of experience..

Also, to call "woman-pleaser" someone who tries to...have you ever cared about someone else, good sir?

in rape hentai, the brute who selfishly uses a woman like a fucktoy purely to satisfy his desires after being overcome with lust for her ends up making the woman cum and become infatuated with him.
Lessons in that. If only he had studied and internalised the gems of wisdom.

Classic case of a loser complex. His first mistake was refusing to consider women as a person like him, in fact he seems to struggle to consider anyone, even other guys to be comprehensible, but it's much worse with women.

Second mistake, horniness is NOT being in love! He is continuing to belittle women in his mind and reduce them to sexual events he feels unworthy of, making it impossible for him to properly challenge his misogyny. That wil never lead to a functional relationship, not even a functional one night stand! He needs major social skills and theory of mind therapy, and this woman probs needs a therapist as well lol

none of those things cause erectile dysfunction.
He could have just as opposed to considering women to be people (???), be just as "misogynistic" (???) , be just as ignorant of "theory of mind therapy" (lol) and still been able to give her a rogering if he was just more of a cave man. His problem is overthinking and being too worried about pleasing women instead of just doing whatever turns him on and enjoying it.
