Oh my god, I made the exact same arguments. She used and tossed people around, she didn't even bothered to call and apologize. She's evil and she manufactured her own downfall...but people only see an anime girl being a victim. None of the stuff she did in the past matter anymore. You don't get to decide that. She obviously doesn't think so, if she did, she'd just kill herself. Instead, she is willing to put up with it...what is wrong with you? Anything is possible as long as you are alive, but if you die, then that's it. There is no coming back from THAT terrible fate. I was thinking about this. Absolutely agree the author has gone too far and this is just not entertaining anymore but I suspect they might be trying to draw parallels with irl scenarios. In that context there’s plenty of sh*tty events that happen to real people where (deservedly or not) they lose all self-respect, get taken advantage of and fall into horrific circumstances. Few particularly enjoy reading about it though, particularly in a romcom manga so personally I hope the author intends to save Hanabi from further suffering one way or another.

Yikes this went off the deep end fast. I really had high hopes for this manga, looked forward to every chapter release after the way it began but this is not the way.

What is possible plan from here though? Assaulted because she wanted to protect the guy she tormented? Okay what potential payoff or advancing of the story could this bring about?

Is this so he feels guilty? Is this so he views her differently so it becomes a potential love triangle? Is this to reset all the MC's progress when he finds out and feels responsible for what happened to her?

Such a disgusting plot point to drop in there. They made the MC get together with the first girl he spends time with, she just so happens to be "perfect for him" so there's no other drama, potential love interests to work with so we get this crazy BS.

A shame they had something good going with the MC finding his courage Ch 1, hoping to branch out and discover himself, make friends and maybe find someone new. Wrapped it up quick and now it is gonna take a nose dive.

I'm curious to see how they try to write themself out of this shitstorm but I will most likely drop once they show the immediate aftermath of this next chapter.

I see, i didn't read it my self and only based it on summaries from the comments and i'm glad i didn't, because that would been horrible to read. Just based on the summaries provided in the comments of that manga the author did everything in the book just to fuck her over to the point that it appears she was not manipulated, by that one other female character who helped the sportsguy to ruin other people just to be the best at shit because she can't do it normally forgot her title was it literature president or something who seems to be the mastermind for the shit that happened in the school.

There's also that one other female character that was the previous target before the ex that suffered the same fate as the ex or probably even worse, the two of them acted like they were addicted on drugs or something...... i should probably stop talking about it here since its for another manga.

Kind of? It was already established through Yukishiro that Hanabi genuinely loved Souma, but the way she demonstrated this love degraded into a desire for "possession" rather than doing good by him. She also already recounted how she became a shut-in, and how that gave her new perspective.

Oh, no, the sexual abuser is being sexually abused. Only she's suffering over the course of days rather than the years she inflicted. The horror of proportionality.

If I recall correctly, Hanabi abused Souma in nearly every way but sexual.

This is the first time I've seen a Japanese Author proceed with what Chinese or Korean Manhuas do although it clashes with the tone of the story like most readers pointed.

This could have worked if Hanabi's sexual abuse towards Souma was hinted in earlier chapters other than being for shock value and had trauma from it.
