Well, she was working there for some time and boss doesn't look like to actually showing the ropes, leaving this to the employees, something that is common as they rarely do the same work as employees.

They're both at same age so communication is easier to take, you're on the same level and can ask questions more openly than someone older, without being intimidated by hierarchy or how old they are.

Trust me, having a colleague on the same position and being few years older, with them looking down on you because you're younger and unable to form a communication on the same level can cause issues.

That would be a good plot view. We the viewers see a bunch of crazy chicks because we are seeing them how Souma sees them as that. Yes he attracts girls, but in other points of views of characters the girls are normalish

This would be a really nice subversion, and also a great way to explore Souma's lingering trauma, but honestly, I don't think the author is going to go for it.
