LOL the childhood friend is pretty much the one at fault for making MC bottle in his feelings. If he confessed and got rejected then he probably is better off now and moving on, but it only kept building up because of Tomoe's "advice". Now it is also Tomoe making things more complicated that how it should've been by storming in without confirming first what really happened.
