God, the setting with “I have to help the protagonist get girls because I just thought of a ridiculous scenario where I'm made to be with him otherwise” feels INCREDIBLY forced. The theory also doesn't make any sense. If that “coercive game power” really existed, she wouldn't have fallen out of love with Minato in the first place. But of course, she conveniently ignores that fact.

I thought I'd really enjoy this title after reading the synopsis, but I see that the author just fucking HAD to insert the most annoying tropes to prevent that.

I didn't see it like that, but a lot of foreshadowing was planted. The manga is purposely holding back elements that characterize him other than him being insultingly dependent on his childhood friend. Him talking down to her a bit this chapter looks like friendly joking, not an uncomfortable norm, though it made me wary. Binge-read the WN... the dialogue and narration is not friendly to the boy.

Ironically the boy's characterization being paced slower will make him come off worse in the long run. The changes for manga serialization are interesting: showed the suicide immediately instead of lategame to warn the audience there's trauma, hid the game events of why the boy did the rescue since we're not bashing him every third sentence and it's a card worth playing smarter.

I can't disagree, but at the same time, would you just go along with the flow with someone you've no particular liking for? Her bluntness will probably not achieve the desired effect, but if you don't shut people down who don't respect your personal boundaries (esp very dense ones who don't seem to ever take No for an answer), your life kinda stops being your own.
