The story is so absurd and the MC is so unapologetic about using the FL's for money which is what makes it entertaining.

For me its not just that he's Cid-levels of unapologetic about grubbing for monetary game. It is the fact that in doing so he is mooching off childhood friends and treating them like his personal checking account and yet somehow he is the one actually being exploited by their yandere asses.
If the setup didn't have HIM being the one actually being exploited and in yandanger, this wouldn't have made the reading list.

Its also the fact he has that "Tom Sawyer definition of work" going on where he is incredibly supportive of the girls in their idol careers and helping them rise to the top (for selfish ends, granted).
