Kana was the only other girl except Ruby who made him want to live. When he said that he wanted to die Kana was the one who made that promise that she'll slap his corpse if ever was dumb enough to do something like this. This is compared to Akane who's so insecure with her own self that she's still at the end of this chapter like "I'll help you kill him and be your decoy", like dude get the hell outta here. Aqua and Ruby had suffered enough, they had lost each other, they had lost their idol and they had lost each other. By some bullshit logic they got reincarnated and still they do not get a chance to live their lives in happiness? Aqua was dumb enough to go all Eren on this bitch and ruin everything for everyone and Akane was dumb and so blinded by her own inferiority complex that not only was she like yeah this is a brilliant idea, she was also egging Aqua to fucking do it already.

And Aqua that stupid blithering idiot just went on with that bullshit like no one was going to remember him and as if he mattered to no one. Not to Himekawa who just found his brother, not to the Director who found his protege, not to Kana who through all of her own bullshit found one person she could love and be motivated by, not to Miyako who left everything behind and raised him as her own son and even let him meet Hikaru and not to Ruby who not only had to suffer through cancer, lost the only person she cared about, lost her idol and her mother and by some stroke of luck was reunited with the person she loved in her brother.

All of that washed in the bloody sea, lost forever and for what? All of Himekawa's family is dead, the Director doesn't have his protege, Kana has lost the one person who motivated her through her own hell, Miyako has lost her only son and Ruby is left with nothing. No Doctor, no Idol, no mother and now no brother. All of these people ruined for fucking what, just so an edgy fuck and a yandere could fulfill their fantasies? Was there really no other fucking way through this whole bullshit you moron? What was that fucking yandere Akane could've done to look after Ruby now that her only family was fucking dead?

This ending and especially the reactions to this ending piss me off so fucking much. People are mad over Kana slapping his corpse, dude I'd say throw that shit in the fucking dumpster. So many people, people who had never been anything but kind to him hurt so much that they will never recover and for fucking what? What is the fucking point of Ruby being safe when she has no one to be safe and happy with? God, I am so bloody angry with this blithering idiot. Bloody hell I should've just stuck to romcoms, none of these morons know how to do justice with their work.

This is everything I wanted to say. I wish the people who like this ending would remember that there was more to this manga than the revenge plot. To just resolve that while ruining everything else makes this ending bad. Aqua kept saying "oooh I don't want people to think of me as a murderer, because that will ruin Ruby's career or something," as if he wasn't about to release a film which exposed to the world that that person had been involved in the murder of his mother and countless other people. This just throws that film and all the connections that went into it into the gutter.

To each member of his harem he was the rock in their life. Even wacko Akane is still obsessed with him enough that she wants to kill for him. Ruby better kill herself or this meant nothing. She believed she gained a second chance with the most important person of her first life just after discovering he had been murdered. Now he's been murdered again. Her just "toughing it out" like it was nothing is more unreasonable than the rest of the ending combined, including the fakeout murder.

What kind of ending do you expect? The crow girl to save him from the ocean and somehow heal his wounds? Like, I genuinely curious. Do you not like it because it's a tragedy? Or is it because it's a "cheap" tragedy with weak plot and build-up?

I, for one, would be extremely pissed of had Aka chose that kind of cliched ending.

I myself am weak against tragedy series. I couldn't bear watching Hotaru no Haka the second time around. I couldn't watch Dororo past the point where many things happened to Mio. Eiji Mikage's Kamisu Reina book quite literally f*cked up my mind.

Oshi no Ko, compared to the series that I mentioned, is much tamer when it comes to tragic and "bad" ending.

I thought I am weak for not being able to handle tragic stories, but I guess I'm not the weakest there is. For all of you who complained about this ending, I advise you to stay in your maintstream action SJ lane. You won't survive the Oyasumi Punpun test. 😭

Would you have liked it better if Aqua's plan was to stab himself in a "safe" spot, and then toss his father into the sea in order both to frame him and kill him, without killing himself? But the dude had grabbed onto Aqua as he fell and they both went down and Aqua had died while not planning to.

friggin this, the biggest love of the doctor wasn't Ai, but Sarina, he loved Ai because it was Sarina's dream his biggest regret as the doctor was losing her and seeing how her family wasn't with her.
Then he met and befriended Ai and even ended as his son, his revenge started because once again he failed to save his loved ones.
So knowing the f*cker was ready to kill her own daughter on his delussion, ofc he didn't have many choices as he already learned his modus operandi and had to end the guy and at the same time keep Ruby's dream (her happyness and HEALTH was his priority), the same could be said as his Aqua part, he was a big siscon hahaha (sorry for the joke at the end)

Idk man death seems very unnecessary even if it was inevitable it could have been done wayy better
