It would've been so easy to write the brother as a cliche jerkwad rival, but he's just awkward and propped up to godhood because of ridiculous rumors. Good romcoms should all have superb support cast like this.

He's propped up because he's hot (the most important thing) and because he deliberately fakes his personality all the time, so that he gets to be worshipped.
Since that's more important to him than even his brother, his bullshit is even more annoying. He needs to own it up and admit he loves the attention and fawning

I enjoy that the brother and family are truly so loving. They aren't going out of their way to show a difference or standing. They genuinely love and care for eachother as shown here and the sports festival.
