was just coming to ask if Uwaki Scans had said they weren't continuing this series.
Guess I'll wait and see if they also release this chapter.
Good Faith suggestions for the TL of this particular one-
- Find raws that are as high-definition as you can. The sharpness of the text against the lower resolution images is very jarring, especially the tonal contrast in the start black against all the washed out tones.
- Pay attention to punctuation. It might end up localizing things a bit, but it helps format sentence structure better than leaving everything without a terminal, and if those are absent in the original Japanese, remember that English is a different language--and linguistic conventions over how the two are written should be considered.
- Look at examples of other translations and how they typeset. Don't break words apparent when it can be avoided, and be willing to resize blocks of text entirely to ensure they fit neatly into the provided spaces.
- Practice redrawing. It's an incredibly useful skill, and it will allow full-replacement of Japanese text with your language of choice, meaning you won't have awkward, hard-to-read translations floating over tonally-similar backgrounds that lead to visual confusion when reading the chapter.
- Have multiple people who are native speakers who can proofread and ensure that both spelling and grammar are accurate, but also the "flow of speech". Whether you're doing this manually or using MTL (and if you're doing the latter....well, I'll leave my own opinions at the door), giving the whole chapter a couple iterations of review will help catch clunky phrasing, or places where dialogue stops and starts, and inconsistencies in morphology or conjugation/tense usage.
- Practice with series that aren't currently popular and that have an active team already working on them. If you have to, then it's best etiquette to reach out to said team and get their express permission as a courtesy. More than one series has been dropped by a dedicated team because people don't do this, and it hurts the community as a whole.
