Check again. It actually combines chapter 55 and 56 into one chapter by mistake. Once you get the bottom of chapter 55 you have to manually click 'Next Chapter' to proceed to the same 'chapter 56' that you just finished reading.

Remembering when I was young, it was common for girls not wanting to be too upfront to do that kind of thing, come up with excuses like "I want to check if your hands are warm", "let me check how long are your fingers", "let me see your nails", etc. just to touch and hold hands for a bit.

To be fair, this isnt that simple.

He is the only one she is comfortable being a otaku sharing the same passion since even Ijichi isnt into the same thing as they, if she tried and didnt work or he wasnt interested chances are that would pretty much end their relationship and then we have Ijichi herself that confessed and making him pick one is going to to hurt the other.

So keeping the Friendzone allows her to keep the status quo, that is as long Ijichi doesnt make any progress since then it would be a question of what she is willing to risk loosing, this makes their relationship being in a strage equilibrium as nobody seems to want to make progress for diferent reasons.
