They're a bit inconsistent with the pronouns for her, although there's a logic to it. Just not sure if it's apparent for people who haven't read the LN.
While she's talking about the range of the thrust skill, what's used more is that it's just a stronger attack than a normal thrust, so it penetrates better.
Part of what I like about the story is that they take care of equipment maintenance. And combat does indeed wear down blades much more than tool use.

Is there actually any logical reason for separating it as "skills" when its really just magic without attributes

Probably more accessible? Magic seems like it requires an education that isn't easily or readily available while you'll learn a skill from simple experience.
I just realized this means Aria has been wandering around for 3 years now? She started out as 7 years old!
No, because there haven't been any timeskips. In fact, it was just a chapter ago that it was stated she started her 'survival' 2 weeks ago, and the sequence of events from last chapter are in the same timeframe as this chapter.
I'm pretty sure Alicia (or Aria) is just forging her age to make herself less suspicious.
