The nonsense he pulled last time was because the idiots didn't hear the terms of the duel first, they just agreed and the asshole made a rule change before starting the duel. Leon set the terms with a trustworthy witness present first, and asshole agreed thinking he still has the upper hand.

• "You said it before, didn't you?"
• "If I bring an equivalent stake, you'll fight me."

Pierre, being that piece of shit, prevents Leon from getting any Armor at all, so it's Leon on foot VS Arroganz. oh and he takes hostages on top of that because he can't stack the deck hard enough.

Luxion basically takes over the controls. subtly at first so he just couldn't actually land a hit. then once the hostages are freed, starts getting brazen and makes it appear that he, in a giant mech, are getting his ass beat by a normal person.

then just before anyone can interfere to end the match, he takes it further and attacks the audience (with missiles barely repelled by the shields) while using an AI recreation of pierres voice to dig his grave further. meanwhile the controls locked up and pierre is freaking out.

eventually Pierre gets ejected. and Leon beats the shit out of him. for like 30 minutes straight. to a Thunderous applause.

MEANWHILE Luxion took control of the stolen ship and went on a fucking rampage with it, basically soloing their military and leveling Pierres territory in particular. again, using AI voiceover to say some really incriminating stuff.

and since the ship was out of control. Pierre couldn't fulfill his end of the wager, leading the tree to strip him of his crest and associated powers.

he then gets arrested and his family announced that he "committed suicide". which is promptly noted to be noble speak for "we are torturing this idiot ourselves"

It will, and it plays a significant role in the Alzer arc. There's a reason why things are being left vague.

The nobility mark system exists primarily to protect the tree. The tree doesn't care how the nobles abuse their power as long as the letter of the contract isn't violated and the tree's safety is prioritized. Only the words said during the oath matter- anything done outside doesn't. The tree only strips the mark when it deems the bearer incapable of protecting the tree. The desire to overturn this inherently authoritarian system is what caused Noelle's family to collapse, which we find out at the climax of the Alzer arc.

By the way, the mark is not all powerful- it has restrictions. The further away from the tree, the weaker the mark. Also, Luxion is far more powerful than the mark and cannot be controlled by it.

We changed countries. That used to be a thing in Holfort Kingdom, supposedly as a plan to weaken border lords by forcing them to come to the Capital, get married to some rando noble there, and then spend most of their money on their stipend.
That has now been mostly abolished in Holfort.
Azer Republic where we are now never had any of that. In Azer Republic power is FIRMLY in the hands of few select families with crests given by an all powerful tree.

I don't disagree, but those girls are from game series he's not so fond off due to experience in previous lives, imma cut him some slack. He got so fucked up in the head he woo the first woman that suit his value based off his previous world even if she's a mother and a wife.

Even I rather get conventional isekai instead of otome game. Thanks for the amusement I'm not willing to live through myself, Leon
