I do not like the new art style. They look like hentai characters in the art. It sucks. The art of the manga plays a good factor and I love the series but the art as well. Im not gonna read a bad hentai artists art. Trying too much to make the characters look thicc.

They slapped him because he was a coward dragging this out and quite a bit of scum to request them both and give them the run about. What they wanted him to do is man up and do it properly. So they plotted with others to put him in a situation where he can not escape or missunderstand them.
Hence this ENGAGEMENT ceremony. They are just engaged, not married. Probably till they all become adults.

He didn't drag it out though? He was asked who he picks, and he plainly and directly said something like "both". And they got mad and broke up with him.

I was certain they had said it was a marriage ceremony before, both in prior chapter and beginning of this one. To begin with, what even is an "engagement ceremony"?

What enemy territory? Both the king and strongest noble (Duke Redgrave, Ange's dad) have a vested interest to see him married off to them. To take them with him he would need to convince them to come and convince the duke too and honestly ange is needed to help stabilize the school student body. AND he would probably need to tell them something of his reasonings, and as coward he is no way is he telling them about past lives and shit.

tons of nobles in the kingdom hate mc's guts. and poisoning the commoner lover while he is away seems like exactly the kind of thing such a noble might do when they hold a grudge.
Or send ppl to kidnap and/or violate them.
Or - since this is manga and I have seen such plots before - some noble brainwashes them so they break up with mc and loves him instead.

I'll personally say this as someone who read up until Vol 8 of the LN
The manga ended, end of story. There is no more continuation and if there is, it is just a side story, PERIOD!

No offense, Noelle is a good girl (one of the best for Leon in the main story)
But Leon being is a Limp D*ck chicken until Vol 8+ is just pure torture for many readers. What else do you need Boy? the girls are hungry for you and you still have this "MOB" mentality and chicken out so many times.

I'm still waiting for the last volume of the LN so that I can binge the series. At what volume is the MC going to get better?

Long story short, the artist was at his limit during vol.10 and requested to hand over the baton, he says he was strugling since vol.3 but persevered, though once vol.10 was underway, due to the amount of mecha to draw, his HP as a manga artist went down to 1, but still pushed through for 2 years after requesting the change to his editor.
He's ending things in a positive note however, there were no disagreements with kadokawa, nor any of the staff.

I am a LN reader, personally the next arc is a little long and a slog. But it gets better after so don’t lose interest if you don’t care for it.

Sadly, the best ideas (and their execution) this series has to offer are already behind us. The rest isn't bad, I suppose, but it's significantly downhill from here. I know this is the fate of any series, it's just disappointing the author could only keep it up for such a short time.
