Interesting. The MCs mother finally learn what it means to face a stronger lioness. Been waiting to see the mother's mask of total control to be tore away and shoved down her throat.👍
See this is a good example the kingdom rotten. But there not stupid they send anybody that threaten there reign. And are not useful as a tool they sent them to the frontline were there likely to die they see anyone useful and they increase there rank in which there force to get marry which if they dont they will lose all political power making them no threat to there reign but if they do get marry there going to be marry there very few good women and most likely the wife will take power after a while either way its a win win for them they may be corrupt but there dam good at keeping there power
even the queen who marry into this country from another kingdom is shocked on how bad men are treated here in the kingdom

Leon thougth the same this only happend in the first place becouse both of them confessed thier love to him and he didn't say who of them he loves, thats why the girls wanted to use the thing to check if Leon loves one of them or not, later on they +thier famelis+Leons famely+Luxon have to work together to get Leon engaded with both of them couse he to stupid to express his feelings. He is pissed that he got tricked, but is happy to be engaded with to both of them at the same time.

@JacqliEster Its based on the Japanese/Chinese system of nobility, where there is a "peerage" and a "court rank".
Classically, Court rank usually goes from one to nine, with each rank split in two (for a total of 18 ranks), with the senior first rank being the highest, and the junior ninth rank being the lowest. (As for this manga, for simplicity sake, they gone away with the senior/junior split and went just with 9 ranks)
With that said, court rank in japanese history since the advent of the shoguns actually doesn't provide any authority, so you can think of it as something equivalent as the order of chivalry in the western world. As such, you can't really compare them with peerage, as they run on separate systems. (For example, you can have a Grand Cordon who is not a noble while a Knight who is a duke.)
As for sixth rank, you can roughly imagine him to be awarded something equivalent to the 6th Class in the Order of the Rising Sun. It makes him better than the 7th Class, but worse than the 5th Class. (p.s. It also puts him 3 ranks below Clint Eastwood, and a whopping 5 ranks below John McCain and Nancy Pelosi, go figure.)

The reason way Mc is sad about up rank is that mean he still has to go back to noble school and marry high rank wife. Has law state just like reason why his dad is married to his stepmother even though he doesn’t love her. He wanted to be posed so could live free and not women like his stepmother. In manga women rule!!

In the LN Angie responds to Leon crying over Zola leaving as him must have been having it hard. Also, more details are given over Jenna's punishment. Normally she wouldn't be working in the fields, but after Leon told their father about her putting a bomb on his armor, it was decided that during the break she'd be helping out in the fields. Leon is a bit upset over her getting such a light punishment for almost killing him as he and his brothers have to help out in the fields every day they're home as the usual daily occurrence. Also, his sisters don't have to do field work being women, have rooms in the main house, and study with electric (or magical equivalent) lighting. While he and his brothers get to stay and study in a shack with a cheap oil lantern which gives off much less light.
BTW, explained more in LN later on but there are a lot less men then women in the Kingdom. Don't remember exact numbers but might be around one man for every ten to twenty-five women for those old enough to be in the academy and younger. After the academy the difference is greater due to the a lot of men dying in the numerous wars and fights against monsters and air pirates. Doesn't help that the women's group Zola is part of has their main objective of figuring ways of getting paid for getting their husbands/sons killed once tired of them. For example, Zola was going to be paid a lot of money from her "friend" from the group in exchange for Leon marrying her while having him become a soldier to profit from his death. The "friend" would have her fun with him, send him off as a soldier to the front line to die honorably in battle once bored with him, and being of a noble family would receive annual income for several years as compensation for her "beloved husband" dying honorably in battle. So Zola gets paid for selling him out, and the "friend" gets her jollies and stable income for years from his death. As for why women are favored it was partly planned, and the women becoming so corrupt and greedy from the favoritism was unexpected. LN explains it further on down so won't say who's telling background or when circumstances explained in the story, just there was a reason and an explanation given.

Wow I'm surprised leon actually gave good advice. Also how could Angie think she a terrible woman. She got rid of one of the worst characters in the story. She's best girl in my book.
