I've been looking forward to this scene where she cries, it felt a bit more emotional in the webnovel i think but it was still good

To be honest, it is more or less she found a cheese. And that cheese is "Taming/Dominating" NPCs for farming EXP (she gains EXP too whenever her minions does something since they are technically her minions and part of her party).
To put in simpler fishing terms, she is using a net instead of a fishing pole.
And wait until people learn about another important character's path to power, that's a REAL exploit.

That's bullshit. No way an admin wouldn't nerf her to hell and back after that first battle. Things like that can make players give up on the game and then comes bad reviews and money goes bye bye

The whole point of the game is that you can do whatever you want. She didn't cheat, she didn't P2W, nothing about Rare's play or strategy was something any other player couldn't have done.

Why should she be punished for the lack of imagination/ingenuity of others?

Nothing she did was against the rules, nor was any of it an exploit. Punishing players for being smart and imaginative is one way to make a playerbase hate your fucking guts.

This is the one point where I feel the devs messed up a bit. If they wanted to have her act as the raid boss, they should have put a conditional that her defeat means that the players get the victory win or, as some pointed out, a better reward for taking her out. Letting her come back immediately might provide some neat story opportunities, but I feel they could have done a better job by forcing her to wait and cook for a bit longer. She's already altered the landscape of the game, multiple towns are simply going to be gone and can even be built up into new dungeon zones as areas for players to explore.

This is of course all from the game design and balance perspective but it's a real surprise they didn't make her need to wait at least a week or two before her secondary assault, letting herself power up and players get better skills too as they now have a better idea of the stakes coming for them, or the level of threat she brings,

Only thing they should have done was make her slow down a bit after that first loss. Gives dramatic tension as people now know the face of the enemy and can train against the new enemy types in the towns she destroyed/took over

The devs really painted themselves into a corner here.

Except for the fact that they didnt just treat her as another player they offered a special prize if she participated as a antagonist. They should have made it more clear to her that she would be participating under the knowledge thag she will be expected to lose and have the event in that area immediately end when she was defeated, give her the special reward and a message thanking her for her involvement in the event.

As the mmo is in open beta they would need to make sure people realise she is a player or risk it being torpedoed before it actually releases.
Glad to find someone with a similar mindset to me. I think her having lost, if it didn't end the event, should have resulted in her needing to stay 'incapacitated' for the rest of it. Maybe a few more waves of enemies but she had her moment, unless the devs planned something like this for their story and the time table got pushed up

This is day two of a week long "invasion" event. If it ended here for this region it would be incredibly anticlimactic.

"A calamity showed up but 30 people killed it and that's the end" is a bad experience for all the people who didn't participate. If she takes over the city/region and makes it a dungeon, that's a villain and perpetual threat that can last for a long time, allowing a lot more people to get involved and grow from the challenge.

This is just one capital city in a massive game world. If it could hypothetically become a haven for monster players who previously had to hide, that's even more of a win.
