A friendly wooden deer that turns you into wood by touch.
It's okay since it's friendly

It irritates me to no end that there are certain details that "Expunged". I know SCP are just fictional mythical things created by the internet, but this is just plain lazy writing.

It could literally turn all humanity into wood, it make no sense it being classified as "safe"

Wood transmutation is decent... but personally I'd opt to just burn the SCP and give humanity one less threat to worry about.

Why waste funds and manpower to keep them if they aren't useful?

But what actions are these "inappropriate" ones?
What could a researcher do to a wooden horse? Live his MLP fantasy?

They don't destroy SCPs unless they don't have a choice. For reasoning why, see the Chair Cloud of Doom. To wit, if they tried to shred this deer, it might regrow from the splinters, or remain animate as a cloud of ash, which would be infinitely harder to contain.

And it's known as Safe because it's very easy to contain and they mostly understand it. It's an animate deer made out of contageous wood. Keep it locked up and healthy and it's fine. That's Safe.

@ampnaman because we can turn other scp's into wood to neutralise them or turn D- personnel into emergency firewood during end of the world : ice age scenario.

Especially some SCP's can outright counter each other or just natural nemesis to one another, but they need research to find their true effects to make use of them without fking humanity first.

@KiTA IIRC SCPs are rated safe when you can simply leave them in a box and it will stay there. It can be a book that if opened will end the universe, but if it's inanimate you just lock it in a box and you're done, bam safe rating. Euclid is anything that moves autonomously and/or has some sentience as there will always be a risk of it trying to escape containment, so this horse should be Euclid. Keter is the really hard stuff that actively tries to escape containment. Could be a mere half transparent bird, but if it's incorporeal and struggles to exit containment all the time it's Keter.

Fucking tell me about it. Yes, using censors can be evocative and intriguing, when used correctly.

Most lazy fuckers there just throw it around and go "Mmmmmyes, so mysterious..."

No you fucker, you're being lazy, you know it, we know it, everyone knows it.

@Shakur

It’s considered safe because nothing happens as long as you’re either wearing full body protection or keeping it in its pen.

Safe doesn’t mean harmless, just easily contained. They have SCP-088 “Lizard King”, which is classified safe since it’s fine as long as you keep it in an airtight freezer, but if containment is ever breached, it becomes a near-unstoppable monster with corrosive claws that can turn people into lizardmen slaves.

The foundation did try to exterminate some dangerous SCP. But they can't.
The unexplained category SCP also might results another effect if terminated, so kind of risky.

...Are you telling me the foundation sent personell mistreating 805 to 682?
isn't that a tad bit overkill?

@Xascoria Wasn't it said in one of the info dumps given for a previous chapter on the classifications that earlier SCP's didn't have the "Safe" classification yet? It seems to me that the Japanese site just retroactively re-branded it considering the new rules because it does follow that it's easily containable, but the original site hasn't.

Was the note explaining that it's Euclid, not safe, added later or are people just missing it?
