Finally some real SCP again. Though it was toned down quite a bit and not in line with its signature "format".

@Saronite That's not canon

The premise of this SCP, as I understand it, is that Procedure 110-Montauk is so terrible that it's worse than whatever it is you think it is. It's a terrifying unknown, a mystery that you'll never get the answer to—and for that fact are fortunate.

I do like the idea of it being a deliberate misdirection, though, and accept that headcanon.

@goodknife

No.

Well, maybe not. SCP canon is whatever you want it to be, after all. But the author's headcanon is that they're unrelated, and the fact that they both have seven seals is because that's a common trope when dealing with such things.

SCP-2317 is meant to make you think of SCP-231, but only insofar as it is thematically appropriate. Fear of the unknown versus fear of the horrible truth, and all that.

I remember reading this on the wiki. No matter what way you look at it, the procedure requires the girl to be raped horribly

@Saronite doesn't change that a young woman, possibly even a child, was forcibly impregnated with a SCP that cam cause an XK class event.

"Nevermind the possibly horrific experience prior to containment, the procedures are bedtime stories!"

Additionally, other reports from supplemental materials suggest Montauk is benign is a false front.

Do realize one instance of 231 committed suicide after a prolonged application of 110-Montauk and another died under it.

One of the best SCP pages arguably. A horrible distaste for readers, or at least keeping them with suspense, usages of hidden texts that fill everyone with more unanswerable questions and extend the freedom for everyone's imagination on how the SCP could be and would possibly be. As well as having backstories (or sidestories) to even further 231's depth, the seven Scarlet King's brides really define the supernatural horror of SCPs - the trademark of SCP, and how far the Foundation can really go to furfill their good-willed(?) objectives.

@Dibella 682 has a sense of self preservation and 173 can only grab physical objects.

I've seen the redacted reports. Those...things are not of this world. There's a malevolence behind them that makes them unkillable.

We didn't terminate the "fetuses". We couldn't. They're only banished and there's other related SCPs that can bring them back.

And they will come back. They're clearing at the walls. The walls of our reality. Can't you hear it? Scratching and scratching and scratching.

The bells are ringing and the seventh shall unwind. The waters and pictins of loss will wear, and soon the walls shall fall. The new lord awaits, and his words shall end the Tree, poisoning the core until all is returned to the Abyss.

Pssst. Hey guys. want some neat trivia? Go to the page and highlight everything and paste it into notepad.

One of these things is not like the other.

And for fuck's sake,

Canon is whatever the fuck you want it to be.

There literally cannot be a strict canon due to the amount of tales that contradict each other. There are canons that revolve around skips and tales but don't harass others for their prefered tale.

It's a very much buffet style of story wh re you pick the parts you like.

If you want to see something cool, try this:

1) Go to the wiki page ( http://www.scp-wiki.net/scp-231 )

2) Open up the console on your chrome browser (F12 -> console tab)

3) Enter in this code: jQuery('span[style*="font-size"]').css({'font-size':'100%','color':'#FF0000'})

4) Read the secret message hidden in the report. Its all in red.

Cool righ- *gets shot in the head by SCP personnel*

Oh, I found this one interesting. The hidden tale in the wiki, too. Make me read the 'Dust and Blood' tale, most likely what inspired the author (I never read any scp tales before). I wonder what SCP the girl gave birth to. The wiki never stated what they did to the 'babies'.

FYI SCP-2317 and 231 written by the same author. It might have relation, or might not. I read others article and found that maybe one of the girl gave birth to SCP-058. Or 682. Maybe. Read 'New Job' tale, btw.

Nevertheless, very interesting.

Good god, this is the true horrors of the SCP, of what they are protecting everyone from, no matter what it may cost.
