Cool, I understand. I just hoped that you might to be able to derive the same enjoyment of scp that I do. Totally makes sense that some people just can't get into the mystery type thing.
I will try again to explain what 231 is about for you but I will say it probably won't be very interesting to read (maybe interesting to think about though.)
The idea behind scp 231 is to show the lengths the foundation is willing to go to in order to preserve the safety of mankind. It starts off by explaining all the effort and resources the foundation puts in to ensure that the location of 231 is kept secret from everyone including the people working there. It is then revealed that the reason they have to go to such lengths is because the procedure that must be done daily on 231-7 is so horrible that almost everyone feels sorry for this women and want to free her.
That women, 231-7, was a part of a satanic ritual alongside 6 other virgins and it is suggested that they became pregnent with 7 "seals" in the forms of fetuses. Each time one of them gave birth (or died) a great calamity occurred and whatever is being sealed becomes closer to being released. As of right now, the six other seals have been opened and only the last seal (231-7) is left.
This means that under no circumstance can 231-7 ever be allowed to die or to give birth, yet birth is inevitible. "Luckily" the foundation has figured out a way to delay the birth indefinitely. And that method is Procedure 110-Montauk.
Procedure 110-Montauk is never explained but it is strongly suggested it is some sort of horrific torture as the screams of 231-7 can be heard regular through the walls of her cell. All we know is that, to ensure that she never becomes used to the procedure and it therefore loses some of its effectiveness, they wipe her memory everyday using special drugs so that when they start again the next day it is just as horrific as the last.
I hope this helps you understand SCP-231 better. The key is to understand that under no circumstance can procedure 110 not be undertaken because, otherwise, the world will end. Just try imagining a situation in which the only way to ensure the world does not end is to torture an innocent woman for eternity.
(By the way, I did this because I really enjoy doing stuff like this)
