Does your translator not speak English or Japanese? Like, on page 10: "I thought you are bad with stuff related to superstitions?" "You say that because you already know the result"?

Lots of weird lines like this. Who did them, and why didn't the proofreader notice the issues here?

I'm interested in how you'd change those sentences to make them not weird.
I'm not a native speaker of English, by the way.

Fresh out of bed, off the top of my head, with no access to the raws? My worst attempt at it would be something like "I thought you were bad with superstitions and stuff", and "You're only saying that because you know how it turns out"

I see, you made them feel a bit more casual. I asked, because the original translation didn't feel that weird to me. Thank you for the example.

People don't speak so formally unless they're reading off a script (And even then it's probably not this stiff). And on top of that, they probably weren't speaking that formally in the raw either. I mean, think about it: They're teenagers, and they've known each other for ages. Here he sounds like he's discussing the results of an experiment with a colleague, and he wants to sound like he's smarter than he actually is.

Just something to look out for the next time you read one of these. I hope you see it everywhere now, and I hope it bothers you too. :pacman:
