I wish you were right, but i'm less optimistic.
My scenarios:

1) the author ran out of ideas, but he does not yet want to finish the manga, so he is stretching out the final villains as long as possible...

2) financial reasons can also play a role... he redraws the official tankoubon releases extensively, adding new scenes... so that is the 'final product', so to speak...

3) running out of creative ideas can also mean, that he has no idea what he will do after he is done with this manga... so again, he stretches out this final arc as long as he can...

This manga definitely showed some signs of hope at certain turns. so far, it has proved to be a total and utter failure. I wish that in real life, there were these big and epic comebacks like in the movies. But there usually aren't.

One of the more important part of this story isn't the plot (which is mildly interesting) but the psychosexual exploration of the MC, and by extension, the porn-corrupted brain of men in this era, and by some more extension, the culpability of women that enjoy that corruption and/or be enablers to those men.

When the MC was making a disgusted face but got exposed as actually excited, that's art. When she actually died by getting railed by the MC, that's art. He literally killed her (in mind-space, but also IRL). Thus the greatest altar to a man's satisfaction in this scenario is the femael getting absolutely brainfucked by being put the penis inside her, which acts as a contrast to her cool demeanour.
