Those who have read the mentioned manga (also by the same author) will better understand and relate to the karaoke scene. This isn't meant to exclude new readers, but rather to provide some context for those who have been supporting the author since Hajimete no Gal (or earlier). That manga has been sinking for so long that the readers may not even remember the karaoke anymore...
Wanna give me a penny or just complain about a note?:salute: This is free after all so...don't get that mad about it.
The translator's snide comments about things that have nothing to do with anything seem unnecessary.

I have read Hajimete no Gal. For several years now since it refuses to end. The only thing in common this chapter from this manga has with the chapter you mentioned in the TN is that the couple went to karaoke.
I went back and reread the chapter after all these years to make sure there were no background characters I missed that might be the characters here but there was nothing. There's no context to be found there.
If you're trying to imply that the connection is that the male MC struck out with the female MC at a karaoke place then you might as well link every manga that has ever used that trope.
In addition, I wasn't mad at a simple translator's note. I simply shared an observation in as constructive a way as possible. If you took that as my being upset well, that makes no difference to me. I offered my opinion for free after all.

So, let me explain my thoughts:

The reflection centers on the idea of utilizing the same setting: The Karaoke, in the initial chapters of both mangas. As this choice serves as a way to develop the relationship between the characters, the connection between these scenes lies in how the author approaches the same situation (going to Karaoke with the girlfriend), with both protagonists being "officially" dating in each case.
What's particularly interesting is how the dynamics shift between the two stories: In Hajimete no Gal, the approach is indirect and somewhat imaginary. The kiss, a classic marker of action, is intentionally suppressed and rejected. In contrast, in PEEP, the same background scene is revisited, but with a significant change. Here, the protagonist takes action where there was previously hesitation, resolving the moment rather than allowing it to linger or fade away. And also, who invites, as in HnG it’s the female deuteragonist, while here, it’s the male protagonist.

It's as if, by using the same backdrop years later, the author is demonstrating a shift in mentality and thematic focus. This shift in mindset plays a role in influencing the direction and pacing of the story itself.

And about the Hajimete no Boner, well, that was funny, that's all lol.

My man thinks it's normal to get rock hard from a single, short kiss

She needs to send him a NTR video with a blonde haired tanned buff dude to get him hard.

Edit: Apparently my shit post joke comment accidentally became a purity test.

If you truly don't know what I am referring to, may God bless your pure hearts.

Such precious, wholesome souls should not be reading this type of degenerate manga in my opinion.
You know that your first sentence didn't narrow it down all that much. (Insert meme if so desired.)

That's part of Akeno evil plan? make him unable to get erection but with her and them told him that's his punishment? she took her twin/abandon her and now she took away any chance to have family?
I just posted something similar about the previous chapter. She could train him and then discard him when his life is ruined and he has severe psychologically-induced ED.

Gotta admit, that manga did go downhill. It should've ended already.

that's the most common asumption, akane has been overly sexual in a way she's the one got the hand over him like she wants him to beg everything, that's why i got the idea that's the revenge for leaving her (twin)brother to die or abandoning her at the river that day, destroying the things matter most for people..their future
