Reading back through this now that was likely a mistranslation considering both of Karen’s Pokémon aren’t from Kanto and Greens Espeon isn’t either, several other contestants use Pokémon from other regions as well

I know this was from years ago, but I just read the Japanese version and it was a mistranslation. In the original, Green just says that Skyla hasn't used any non-Kanto Pokemon yet during her preliminary matches.
