I was reading the WN on Syosetu before I found out the story had been picked up for an Anime and Manga.

In the WN there's no name telling her who gave her the book... instead there's a long arc of trips hunting down the people that might have possible made that book. I'm wondering if they plan to just skip that whole plot element altogether, or if they just switch it to her specifically trying to hunt down that person rather than hunting them all down to ask if they made the book.

While I agree that the animation style is dubious at best, I actually like it quite a lot. It's much better than certain anime that tried so hard to animate battle scenes which just doesn't work. But above all, it's cute and that's all that matters.
