Daaaw She's settling in with an apartment! A friend, and lots of grass for potions as well!. Rei's right, Kaede should be wary of dangers. Make some more elemental stones :D.

Nina is precious and must be protected at all costs.

And it looks like Nina, tiny faerie that she is, has some considerable power to her, so this budding friendship might pay off in a big way with Kaede living out in the woods on her own.
I look forward to finding out if her grimoire carries other crafting things as well - we saw the magic stones, and I'm sure potions go far beyond the healing variety we've witnessed. But she might be able to set up defenses for her and Nina's new digs, and that'll go a long way to keeping away would-be trouble.

Rei seems on the up and up, and hopefully her quip about "honest girls risk getting taken advantage of" when they were in the bath isn't some flag that she's not as good a person as she's making herself out to be. Actual antagonistic figures are largely lacking in this series thus far, so I suspect we'll run into some villain at some point that'll be around for a bit.

Hopefully Rei's not it, though, after Kaede took to her as well as she did.

Looking forward to the next. Thanks for the TL.

I'm a bit surprised she chose to get a house that's in the forest. I'm not sure about the safety, but mostly they've used a carriage to get there, so what exactly is her plan when she needs to sell her wares or buy ingredients? She won't have a carriage herself, so she'll need to walk to the city and then back. I guess that, if the forest is relatively safe in terms of monsters, she might be able to get ingredients easily for her potions.

She does have a fairy friend now so maybe she can help her.

Hopefully Rei's not it, though, after Kaede took to her as well as she did.
That would just be strange considering all of the help she's provided Kaede up til now; she just seems like a friendly person. Rei is wealthy too and it's from hard adventuring work so I can't imagine she would scheme something for some benefits. Considering Kaede's potions are essential for Asul, a member of the party she leads, it would be absurd to antagonise her. Even if Rei's good treatment of Kaede was strategic, by trying to get her good favours in order to ensure good deals on her potions later, Kaede doesn't have a merchant's greed. She's been selling her potions cheaply and basically gave away the hi potions because she hadn't gathered the ingredients and had been paid with a purifying stone (which was worth 90 potions).

Honestly, it seems to me that Rei has heard from Asul that Kaede is prone to getting high-balled and just not very good at asking for proper payment for her skills so she's doing what she can to help her. In general, Rei also probably wants Kaede to get settled comfortably in the capital, because the sooner she is, the sooner she can start doing business again.

Having her house far away makes it easier for her to use her skill without anyone nearby, but how will she move to and from town?

I'm not saying Rei is likely to be a villain, only that I also hope it's not what ends up happening.
It wouldn't be the first time I've read a story involving someone who is nice and helpful only to have ulterior motives--unsavory or outright nefarious--when it comes to the person they're helping & building rapport with.
I'm not saying that Rei is buttering Kaede up to rob her or murder her--there's other types of villainy out there. Realistically though, this doesn't feel like the sort of title that would utilize that sort of characterization. Everything's been pretty WYSIWYG with how each person introduced is portrayed--Asul was somewhat intimidating but portrayed as pragmatic, and being an adventurer would understandably be wary of Kaede until he could see what she was about for himself--but there are some aspects to Rei's character that could be interpreted as doing all this for unspecified personal motives.

And maybe she is, but they're almost certainly not bad intentions for Kaede. I'd be super surprised if it turned out that way, again due to the story's tone up to now.

My guess is she'll end up helping someone who can assist with regular transport, or Nina herself will have some solutions that involve fae magic, which could be one facet of her being introduced.

Is she planning to live in this world for years or what 🤣 with her current skills and money, and the intention to go back home, isn't it better to rent a room in the city instead of getting an expensive house in the middle of nowhere? But anyway, cute and cozy chapter, I enjoyed her cleaning up her house tbh

lol i get fanboying/girling out tho i feel like even if it's something i'm interested in i'd have a hard time reciting it so clearly versus writing it down or so

i guess the other girl /maids would be too rich to just steal a magic bag but surprised kaede wouldn't just keep her book with her just in case (altho buying new clothes aside youd think she'd offer the maids to measure some custom spare ones)

lol bath fanservice

She needs to get water from that well every day?
That is going to be hard work.

maybe she'll get a way to have some water magic or help from the fairy altho i skimmed some chapters on scribblehub before they deleted all their fantranslations and she gets a slave at some point so yeah

so cute! it seems like this manga isn’t a copycat of “i will survive using potions after all”

that story was a lot more 'op' since kaede could make potions from 'nothing'/her imagination (considering that annoying prince that was in love with her/kept chasing after her, other than disguise surprised she didn't make a potion to erase his memories or take away his feelings unless it was some moral thing but she was hardly above doing things the way she wanted lol)

might as well prep just in case but even if she has the intention to go back idk how many have let them versus "i returned recently but still have powers" kinda trope or "i finally got home but isekai'd again" versus something 'ideal' like going back and forth for profit/being an otherworld merchant

i don't think her magic bag will weigh her down but i'd imagine she'd be more used to walking on foot anyways since japan is usually more 'walkable' than america from what i've heard (depending on things feels like she could just work like 1-2 days a week and take it easy the rest of the time) if not go 'halfway' and set up a stand/picnic blanket on the outskirts/border or something (unless she has to get a permit and only sell in designated areas) if not just be the creator and have a middleman sell her potions in their shop for a cut or so
