@DeadKinginHell It is in certain parts of the country, sadly. Lots of corruption, and in some instances pretty openly known situations where the "police" and "military" members are really no more than gang members in uniform. If you stay in the more extremely touristy-related locations (like Cancun), then you are much safer, but not recommended you do a lot of travel int he more rural areas.

@fdmz: Yep. If the root is attached you can do a regular test, if not you can do a mitochondrial test, which isn't as accurate, but can be used to really shore up other evidence. I watch too much Forensic Files. Lol.

I don't understand why the mom didn't get plane tickets and left back to Japan before it gotten so bad that her son had to join a gang and be a meat shield. She kept on asking her mom for money so "pride" wasn't really the issue.

I'm guessing had she said, "Mom can you give me money to buy plane tickets so me and your grandson can go back to Japan", Grandma would've given her the money.
