Man, seeing how far they’ve come together through all the trials and tribulations is honestly beautiful. I mean, Elsa was literally a slave at one point, and now she’s grown into someone who’s even earned the status of Viscountess. Seeing her efforts actually get recognised like that just hits different.

And now we’re at a point where Elsa and Evie can openly express their love, which makes the whole journey feel even more rewarding.

Thanks for translating

No way she’s actually doing bread and circuses to get public support for succession
Arguably the opposite.

This is an example & demonstration of technology that could lift up the commonfolk by giving them access to devices and magic that previously priced them out of the sort of luxuries afforded to the nobility and elite.

The fireworks were to put on a show specifically for this festivity occasion, but it's already been established this is intended toward longterm improvements for those at the lower ends of society.

It seems they are doing something akin to what Ix and the Guild were making with the navigation machines to replace the Guild navigators during and after Leto II’s rule to end the guild monopoly on space travel by ending the upper class nobility monopoly on magic via the mana batteries.

In a sense yes, but I would feel as though this was a spectacle specifically for the sake of gaining reputation for the princess

This new technology is also monopolized by the princess and her circle, the implications there are very obvious

The ways this helps the people also then creates a situation where the population is reliant upon the princess’s circle for this technology, which means that there’s a significant power imbalance for succession. What I mean here is that rather than picking the most qualified successor to the throne, the princess has manufactured a reason for her to be chosen, that has nothing to do with her abilities as a ruler
