I'm gonna answer this one myself: I thought the forums was going to be something similar to /pol/ 4chan. I was scared I would get harassed sooner or later or be exiled from other places from association... I use twitter too much... Anyway what surprised me is when I learned @Angry_Panda was homosexual. Surprised me more than what MSML did honestly.

Q35:I don't think my initial impression of the forum was that eventful. I found Mangadex when looking for "Learning With Fgo" manga, and was just asking about how to comment correctly back then

I find even the sound and sight of people kissing IRL to be gag inducing, and I am not joking about this, I legit feel nausea just from it.

I don't close my eyes in the shower even if I'm using shampoo. Also I'm pretty normal (entièrement not insane) and I'm great at focusing on a given topic without getting distracted.

Despite what people might think, I and a lot of reasonable people actually think the writing for Lord of Mysteries is just okay. Like it's not bad and certainly had me hooked for months with the story but once you analyse it overall from a different perspective it's between ok and good with some excellent peaks in between but has some minor problems. The glaze on CF is insane sometimes.
Still better than most isekai titles I can find tho.

I also struggle a bit with audio sometimes, need subtitles. Sometimes in real life as well. Guess I'm not a sequence 8 Listener. Sometimes I think it's because I'm not paying attention but there's no way it could be that.

Reminds me of my favourite MC from a series called LotM. Not sure if you've heard of it but it's about a guy who gets isekai'd mysteriously and is poor all the time even after starting a secret cult (he needs the money to buy bread, pies and other delicacies) and avoids the topic of marriage pretty easily on multiple occasions using his fraudulence lack of money intelligence.

Or maybe it's because the author isn't good at writing romance for main charactes? At least he avoided it instead of writing bad romance. But there were a few decent romantic scenes as well. Why's there so much yaoi in the fandom? And the art is so good! 🤤

I had a good impression. I was well received, and people interacted with me, even though I was a newbie (actually, I still am). During my time here, I've had very few negative interactions. I've learned to simply not react if someone is being overly rude

Hmmm, For the first question. My first impression arose from commenting on chapters I read. I missed Mangareader.to and those I sorta knew there, so I set up an forum account and started. While I do recognize a lot of names, I think the biggest surprise is how kind everyone is. Trust me, I grew up with MMOs and the Warcraft Forums, things can get weird sometimes, but thus far, everything's been nice. I've even written a few things on these forums I've never written or told anyone.
For the second question, hmmmmmmm.... I....hmmmmmmmmmmmmm...... IDK, I'm not the most surprising person. Some call me dramatics, others call me stoic, and even other-others call me boring. I think the most surprising thing might be...hmm...

OH, I guess one surprising thing might be my strange often encyclopedic knowledge of movies and shows, and specifically the actors and creation of them. Like sometimes with the few I do talk with, they'll mention an actor they don't know the name of and I'll be able to name the actor, the director, the producer, the studio, and know if the show or film was rated highly or not. As one who's in love with creating stories, of course I also love the journeys and works of other creators as well. I'm even knowledgeable of things I don't really like.
THAT said, it's probably not a surprise. Or maybe it is. I am usually never one to start a conversation. Fearful of the horrible silence that comes when those your conversating with aren't really interested.

My first impression was rather boring, "Oh, nice. They have a forum." or something in that direction.

Besides the way things escalated for some banned former regulars, I'd say finding out that @Angry_Panda isn't a real panda is what surprised me the most. Same thing with the other ones. What do you mean I wasn't trying to play RPS with a duck. My suspension of disbelief is in shambles and my day in the Library is mildly ruined.

that was so long ago that i hardly remember. but i softly do. i think this was my first post in the Lounge. it sort of seemed like the wild west, where there weren't really any cliques/groups formed yet (in comes the GFG of course) and everyone was just there to see what was up. but i (and others) kept coming back, and it started to feel more like a community with recognizable names/faces.

Also, what was one thing about a regular that surprised you?

i was shocked to learn that everyone on the forum was homosexual

i was driving the other day and there were two birds twittering around the roadside up ahead. the truck in front of me was driving normally. suddenly, the birds flew into the road and the truck ran over one of them. it was surprising because birds almost always move out of the way, but this time one actually got run over. i didn't flinch as i kept driving, and i think i ran over the bird too.
