main reason I say it's bad is not because the British English but because of slang and localization. I REALLY don't see this MC using this much slang seeing how uptight he is. and for that reason alone I'm going to claim this is a bad TL and needs redone.

correction: it's fucking terrible (just finished 'reading' chapter 2) way too many memes to even be considered a translation, at this point it's a fucking rewrite. someone nuke this shit please.

yep, I just skimmed the rest of chapters 3 & 4 and while much better than chapter 2, over all this is more a rewrite than it is a translation. worse yet it's almost comparable to the worst 'TLer' in the history of the internet. (or at least one of the most well known, and mostly referring to chapter 2 being a pile of steaming shit) I'm under the impression this is mainly due to inconsistency of slang useage, localization, and of course the filthy memes. literally 1/2 to 3/4ths way though chapter 3 the style changes from formal English (acceptable to anyone who speaks the language and didn't drop out of grade school) to slang + memes for NO GOOD REASON.

so tell me, how am I supposed to immerse myself in this manga in any way shape or form that's similar to the author/artist's intent?
pro tip: I can't, and neither can ANYONE else. ( a baseless claim but it should help drive home the point I'm trying to make here)

my suggestion to this 'TLer' either take translating somewhat seriously or go make memes. hell even making some memes after TLing the chapter as bonus joke page(s) is fine, just don't put this shit in the manga chap itself. also redo your work, it's now apparent to me that you are indeed able to translate well but are choosing not to.

Well, if you guys feel so strongly about this translation, feel free to start translating it too. Mangadex allows for multiple versions of the same chapter after all...

As for my personal impression: it's as if the comedy tag is here solely thanks to the translator.

I don't mind the funny lines if this turns out to be just a stupid mindless porn, however, it will certainly be a let down if the story goes into some darker psychological path.

I see all this argument about the TL and honestly... while it is done out of the TL own volition and for free, i can't say it's a good translation. And it's obviously not because of an lack of ability on the TL's part, as the overall meaning of the translations seem to be correct. in that sense, he's basically having fun and screwing around, it's almost a rewrite but not quite (it's like that Louis guy on antman's movies narrating others speech).

I'd say all you can do is rate it poorly because it is indeed bad, but no need to burn the guy on a stick really... it's like bad dubbing, it happens, a lot, it ruins the characters' image and a lot of people just avoid it. And same as bad dubbing, if there isn't any other option for you since you can't understand the original and you refuse to succumb to the bad adaptation to your language, well, that's kinda your problem, deal with it.
