This is one of the edgiest manga possible, and edge isn't a good substitute for story.

Proofreader of this series here. We have found a translation error that may change the whole overarching narrative. While working on the script for this chapter, we, completely on accident, noticed a similarity between the name of the explosive dragon, which we have previously translated as “Tratektora”, and the name of the spider monster from the spider isekai, “Queen Taratect”. We then slowly realized they had very similar spider/tarantula-like characteristics. What if the other dragons had a corresponding bug/crawly counterpart. It was noted that Artemisia looked like a moth, specifically the Actias Artemis, which also had Artemis in its name. Nephilim was also supposed to be Nebulim, referring to Nebula, a genus of moths, which is also a fixed translation error.

We also weren’t able to confirm these following suspicions, but they should be noted. Barom Sierra -> Sierra luminous millipedes. Voltekamui resembles a wasp with his aggressive nature, antennas, and in color with his yellow lightning and black leather coat. Borgius -> parasitic fungi that use insects as hosts.

Or this can be a total wild goose chase. We’ll have to see.

What are you guys talking about with the edge stuff? Tragedy is happening yeah, but it's not like it's all mindless slaughter with psychopaths for the sake of it, all the characters so far have shown personality, and reasoning for their actions, and even explanations on why it's happening or why they don't feel emotion at all when they're dragons.
Hell, this isn't even the most edgy chapter of the bunch.

@Yautja TF you mean? The story is fucking great. A world where dragons invade, a revenge story with our MC's consciousness transcending time and power, a mix of good and evil in both sides. How is edge the only critique you get from all this? You must be absolutely fucking dense to just get that out of everything that's happened so far, just because you see dark and tragic imagery in this chapter.

Damn, so how many Bloodlines do we know of?
The Bloodline of Wings - Previous generation was so influential that its current generation is a shell of its former glory
The Bloodline of Seija - Something about the Explosion Dragon's Master being killed off by the current King of Wings or something
Then there's the Trap's Bloodline, if I remember correctly, but I don't remember the name

Thanks for the Chapter

@Yautja you gotta remember shounen manga will always appeal best to there demographic aka young to pre adult boys, and one thing they love outside of hot girls with big boobs is edginess but I'll give the author credit on actually trying to formulate a coherent story and not just load each chapter with cheap fan service or just non stop battles. If your judging it like you would a piece of work by an accredited author you will always be disappointed. Not saying you can't have standards but applying it to blankly will always leave you disappointed, at least if you read this type of manga targeting more mature audiences.

"The story is fucking great. Dark and tragic imagery"
If this is what you call a great revenge story, you must have really high standards. Go read Dungeon Seeker, I bet you'd love it. Also, get a dictionary and learn what dark, tragic and imagery mean. Imagery is something you don't do with pictures, genius, but words.

I love how bipolar the comments are on this manga, one chapter everyone's shitting on it, the next you've got a bunch of morons like you, and 10 other people, screeching in defence of it just because I called it edgy, with no other response than "you don't know what edgy means" instead of pointing out how I'm wrong or this isn't edgy. My god, if this manga and this chapter, specifically those first 12 pages, especially pg12 aren't fucking edgy, nothing is.

I don't mind it, but don't* expect it to be good either because of what you listed. I try to judge everything as stand alone as possible but I'll acknowledge whether or not a series is basically a dumbed down lower quality version of another series, Yasei No Last Boss and Overlord for example. As far as I'm concerned, this is just a mediocre and edgy middle of the road manga and I don't expect much more from it. A true 4-5/10 story wise. I don't agree with the idea of judging a story based off it's demographic. If I did that, Teletubies would probably be the highest rated show in existence, along with a bunch of awful harems and mediocre Shoujos that just look pretty and seem romantic.

This is a bit of an unfair statement considering that people's tastes are so varied. My 9 year old niece loves Dora the Explorer like I did when I was her age and thinks it is the best show and I would agree for that target group it is but obviously it won't win an Oscar nomination or acclaimed awards but that doesn't mean it is not a good show just cause 9 year olds adore it. My 13 year old nephew loves DBZ with all its screaming and filler like I did back in his age and I think its perfect for his target group but me as a 20 sumthin would never recommend it to my peers. However I won't say its terrible cause I have outgrown it. Every thing will have its target groups and will be popular within them, thats where terms like cult classics or niche come from right? I would hardly discredit those terms so easily.

@Axilr

Thank you for this new insight! It's really interesting how the characters are named, gives more flair to them.

I've had my share of uh, "edgy" stories and this one, well, it had more edgy moments before this...

Anyway I'm more excited for the Silverware + Ragna & Crimson team up fight so the nearer we get to it the better
