That’s a recurring thing in the AQ universe (AQ, DQ, AQW, AQ3D). That being said, there’s not much Pirate vs Ninja in AQ3D for now since currently the storyline and factions are significantly more localized than AQW (not many factional warfare)

This chapter was so compressed it felt like a recap of events, not the events themselves. But then again, if many chapters had been used for this, it probably would have felt like a waste. I can't say this whole arc would have been introduced with such a fundamental, suggested importance that it would have justified more than this.

People REALLY don't seem to know how fucking BAD immortality can be if you have enemies.... Make said person unconcious, dig a 5 meters hole in the middle of nowhere toss the body (chained) and fill it halfway with concrete. Good luck digging your way out.

Immortality is often more trouble than its worth. And true immortality is absolutely a curse.

Immortality is both a blessing and curse. Sure you can live your life however you want, start over as many times as you want, etc.
On the the flip side however...
As you said, having enemies can be problematic. There's also falling in love/having people close to you and basically watching them grow old and die while you stay the same. And of course, there might come a time when life no longer has meaning and you want to die but can't
