Did this manga forget that Jean d' Arc did actually get hit by an arrow during the siege of Orleans? She got hit on her left collarbone, which gave the English troops a huge morale boost since they thought she'd died, but she returned before night even fell to reinforce the French again.

To be fair, he didn't make him like that. Hijikata was really like that irl too. He was referred to as very handsome and quite tall too, and was also known to have had relations with multiple women but never getting married, due to his position as a Shinsengumi officer. He didn't really had to buff his personality too much.

Ngl I was cringing this chapter. Every chapter the author slips in how awesome glorious nippon is and they completely threw away the premise from probably around chapter 2. I was hoping for something like Dungeon Defence where it's legitimately dark with a main character who can manipulate his opponents and build a proper nation even when under siege from all sides with politics happening, but this is clearly not that.
