I can't recall a single time in the WN version where someone injured Sheryl. Maybe roughed up a bit, but not injure. It's been a while so maybe I've forgotten. But either way, it's a little unsettling to see her get injured like this. Reminder that the stakes are serious for all the characters.

Akira was all about himself but it's nice to see him slowly to trust or cared about his allies.

idk about future plot but I guess it's time travel/loop/simulation world stuff with how alpha in his dream reaccounting previous run, if going with this plot.

then (probably) his previous runs failed because he's alone and at some point, he broke down and there's no allies for him to relied. hopefully this run will success with his own connection (caring shopkeeper, vet hunter, shrewd merchant, labourer and his goon) can't imagine sherry won over akira at all lol.
No, it's just attempts with providing support to various people.

Hunter 1: failed
Hunter 2: failed
Hunter 498: failed
Hunter Akira: ?

I think peeps are misreading the "Feelz" Akira has... Especially towards the girl.

The Bad Guys made the mistake of Touching His Stuff. Stuff he spent considerable time and effort in to develop into something useful to him.
Akira does not take kindly to people Touching His Stuff. At all... There's a previous mini-arc about exactly how much he really doesn't like people Touching His Stuff.

The girl is incidental. The Baddies were dead meat the moment they raided Gang HQ.

One does not simply break someone's waifu's fingers and get away with it. I hope he breaks their fingers one at a time too. :pout:

Our girl is STRONG. Im proud of her goddamn. Hopefully Akira does something worse in tuen for that, but I kinda doubt it. His emotions towards her are changing but I dont think they are at THAT point yet, so he might just simply kill them sadly.

At least this will be the time that people will learn that Akira does not like people touching his stuff... I hope. If other hunters don't get the message by this point, well then may Akira give them a quick death at least.

The girl's gonna have to beef up her gang when they get back. What use can the gang provide if other people can just waltz in and shoot up the place.
The setting is pretty clear that there is a major power gap between gangers and hunters. At this point, Sheryl’s crew would be a hard target for any opposing gang, but a coordinated smash and grab from a team of well-equipped, augmented combat veterans is a whole ’nother league.

I mostly agree with you. The trigger was these arseholes going in to Gang HQ and kidnapping Sheryl. However, I doubt Akira would have gone to this extreme for anybody else in the gang, and I think that's the nuance you are ignoring.

When his wallet was stolen, he chased the girl until he got his wallet back. He was willing to fight others to make her pay, but once his stuff was returned, he said "meh" and moved on.
When he was in the ruins with other hunters, he wanted to avoid as much conflict as possible because he doesn't like risking his life just for anything. And we have seen plenty of times in the past where he aids others, just because they happen to be nearby, not because he really wants to do that.

Here you see an Akira that prepared to destroy his property (vehicle) to avoid a prolonged confrontation and fight to save Sheryl, heal her and then make them pay.
It is not the gang he cares about, it is Sheryl. She is his property (if we want to give it the same perspective you imply) and they touched her.

The previous runs are all different people from different eras (we don't know how long she's been doing those trial runs)

You made the wrong expression here, Akira is not a person who easily breaks promises (He promised Sherly that he would protect the gang not own it as his property) as we would later see how strong his will is to resist the urge to betray the promise he made with Alpha from the very first chapter.

It was so fast that they came in guns drawn. This stuff isn't in the web novel, so even I find it strange.

The lack of a security checkpoint is absurd since they are dealing with high end products. I believe they have some stronger defenses in the web novel.

Unless I'm mistaken, they confronted Akira in the desert after following him, not kidnapping. Then again, I don't think Sheryl was involved with getting items out... But could be wrong, as it was quite some time ago.

Either way, I don't consider noting differences in media a spoiler, but there was a major plot point that is missing, and no idea if they'll get there or just forget it.
They're still yet to make any connection from the inner wall, so no big defense for them yet
