The fuck are you idiots yapping about? translation is absolutely fine, ignore these NEETs.
It isnt though. Please compare the two speech bubbles in quality and you would see that there is a major difference of care put in between the two translations. For people who generally just skimp over Red Blue this is maybe alright but the major outcry here comes from the fact that some fans waited years for a decent translation and arent quite happy that someone barges in and nearly destroys that effort over night by driving away the one guy who has the skills to deliver a good scan (and RS sitting on over 100 chapters for some reason).. If this isn't enough evidence for you, Sigilbreaker lists some good points in the forum on chapter 41: https://forums.mangadex.org/threads/red-blue-vol-5-ch-41-unexpected-development.2073969/

I cant believe I created an account just to comment like this for the first time. As for me, what I see is a butthurt group who only try to find fault in others. If you're so good, why talk like that to other people? aren't you describing yourself instead? I don't think your uploads don't have any faults either, even top groups make mistakes. the other group may be wrong too, but from what I read in your server, you appear more wrong in here.
He stated that he already translated but you just happen to release first making him the sniper. But in the folder he sent in your server, the date there is earlier. He or their group did not chat anything initiating a fight, your group did. You focused on finding faults in his work while in fact your release had so much mistakes in itself. Your names isn't consistent, your fonts don't change making it feel like a dead person is reading them. As a reader, there's almost no difference in your two group's release, a little difference in words might matter, but as long as the meaning or the story flows as its intended, it shouldn't affect much.
I was thinking of donating to your group, but after a little investigation, it seems like I would only regret doing so.
I wouldn't want to donate to your kind of group who only look for other group's mistake while thinking yours is any better.

I think you are mixing up some stuff here. First off im not a member of Dark Reunion, im a mod there. Me and Sigil and others formed JSN and are now just giving advice to Black Beat, because oh wonder oh wonder, we care about Red Blue and wanted to see it translated. The whole approach of RealtiyScans in the discord was a disaster and every kind of critique one throws at Reas/RealityScans bounces off. The punctation thing for example. Leaving that aside, why Realityscans chose to sit on over 100 chapters then, if its not sniping, instead of just uploading them before Blackbeat did, i will never understand. Also, i think you have a MAJOR misunderstanding why Blackbeat/Dark Reuinion is translating this: Passion. He stated multiple times that he loves Martial Arts series and is not doing it for the money. You can ask him that in the discord if you are not Reas. Which i think you are by the way you type, its nearly identical to his writing style on Discord. Etiher way, i said everything i wanted to say regarding the matter at that point. You, Reas, can work on this but why you chose to do it that way and so haphazardly, no idea. There are so many (martial arts) series that will never be touched and no one would blame you for giving these a shot (unless you rush through these too for some reason). IF you ever feel the need to actually translate a series that isnt already touched by a different group (like the new MMA manga from the Allrounder Meguru/Eden author) and need advice for Martial Arts terms, i (and sigil probably too) are happy to help. Otherwise, all the best in your future endavours.

oh, so this is discord server beef flooding into mangadex? this melodrama should stay there. i honestly dont know what example in the pics of your first reply you are implying is better either. they each convey the same information, just worded slightly different from one another. if you and your status as a mod is enough to tell whether a translation is accurate or low quality, translate it yourself.

simply put, all i want to do is read a manga that is solid action and competition, instead of constantly finding action manga that devolve into the mangaka's fetishes and kinks drawn to life. that was the main reasons i dropped series like Tsuyoshi and All-Rounder Meguru.

Shocker that people discuss their hobbies outside of Mangadex. The main problem for the people here is that Realityscans translations are at best rudimentary and lack the nuances in the japanese raw (according to Blackbeat, not me) and the manga just deserves better. If you are fine with Reab's works, great, you do you. Some people love their microwave cheeseburgers after all.
mangaka's fetishes and kinks in Tsuyoshi and ARM
Oh god you are one of those

For the first one I'm just going to say that the one on the left is a lot clearer when it comes to what the argument is actually about.

For your section point - what fetishes/kinks are in All-Rounder Meguru? That's a very straitlaced sports series.

primarily the -dere tropes felt very forced, whether they are interacting with their crushes or the other -dere characters. also felt really weird when they went to the hot springs together and everyone was grappling naked, but that's just my opinion. meguru slowly was starting to develop a harem of girls crushing on him by the time i dropped it. again, i'm not judging, it's just not what i want in a manga about grappling, especially when grappling itself is probably the most 'intimate' of contact sports

Bro that man never gets a Harem. In fact, he literally ends up choosing, asking out, and sticking to one girl only. meguru is just friendly with the women he interacts with because he’s a legitimately chill guy

As a neutral guy, it's not. The whole point of the page is to tell that the MC is fired up because he'll finally be able to show his ground game. This one gives the impression that the triangle was somewhat expected when it's not.

I've read both version (without noticing, I was just rereading) and this is not exaggereted to say that, yes it's the most important page of the chapter and yes it reduced my pleasure by a significant margin.

Long time lurker/manga reader, felt like weighing in as a neutral observer. The discord server was also public so I peeked in when I saw comments here that the conversation started there

Frankly, I don't think either group is in the wrong. It's understandably frustrating to think that you're working on a unique translation for a manga only to find out that another group has been hoarding releases. Initially, the two translators appeared to mutually understand that no one was really starting beef. Realityscans provided screenshots indicating they'd started to work on Red Blue in late 2024 and that they wanted to let the original group know that they had a lot of chapters saved up in case they didn't want to waste effort translating or rereleasing for something they had already translated. Admittedly, asking if the translation could just be left to them was a little rude, but I think they afterwards gave sufficient context.

A few random people from the earlier group started throwing more incendiary comments at Realityscans to try and stir drama (seriously, accusing people of being someone's alt is such a throwback to irc servers in the late 2000s). Then BlackBeat @'d Realityscans in their discord server and asked them to leave the Red Blue translation to him, gave them some good feedback to improve their work, and told them it was embarrassing to release at the moment.

I don't think it's fair to just tell Realityscans to throw his work out and fuck off. Realityscans indicated they were fine with putting out their releases and for anyone else to continue their translation. They said they didn't really feel an obligation to the readership in DMs to BlackBeat that were shared on his discord. This is a somewhat cavalier attitude, but ultimately some people are doing this out of passion, others as an interesting project to learn another language, or for any other number of reasons, and you can't police people's motivation for something they do in their free time, or ask a stranger to throw out work they've spent time on just because yours is better.

Realityscans wasn't hostile and basically just said "do what you want and I will too, in the end worst case scenario the readers get two releases to compare". If BlackBeat finds this demotivating, that seems very understandable to me. If he continues translating at his own pace, that would be awesome, because he's absolutely right that his translations are better quality. Frankly, as the random online scanlation reader that simply reads manga and isn't plugged that deeply into scanlation culture, but probably represents 99% of the silent majority, I want to read Red Blue in English.

If some rando dumps 100 chapters of mid translations, I am going to read them. Many of us are junkies looking for a fix after mainlining Jujutsu Kaisen Thursday speedscans for years and a few translation issues aren't going to dissuade us. This is probably not the greatest attitude towards consuming content, but it's reality, which is ultimately what people need to consider to decide on a course of action. Some streaming services like Netflix favor a binge model (here, releasing 100 chapters of middling quality all at once), others release episodes one week at a time (BlackBeat releasing quality translations, but sometimes banking them for 9-10 months and going at a slower pace). Both work.

Sorry for writing so many words, but it was a weird situation to stumble upon. I hope both groups are able to come to a satisfying conclusion but no one is really the asshole here. Thanks to everyone for their work!
