Please don't fight, cleanse whatever the black dog really is and remove their curse... Please have them struggle and repent for what they did...

@DrunkinDonut They don't need to kill the royals. As you said, he's a "deterrent". He only needs to threaten, because his existence alone has that much weight, just as the threats of the king. They could've kept the status quo checking one another because it's also not riskless at all for the royals to spread rumors of that family

No matter what the sociopath-like group of folks in the comments are saying, punishing children for the deeds of their parents is royally fucked up.

Some of ya all seem to be forgetting this because our MC is adorable and the new King acts like a B-tier villain. Letting your protective instincts kick in and call for either killing of the royalty or the entire kingdom, which, let's be 1000% frank, is seriously fucked up considering that the first chapter clearly showed that majority of the citizens were normal people.

Now, I will counter again by pointing out that what the Royalty did way back then was fucked up, yes, but Origin does not have the excuse to punish descendants for the deeds of those in the past, that's how we got lot of attempted genocides in our own world (by putting the crimes of the parents on their children)

On the other hand, I suspect Origin honestly never cast a curse on the Royalty in the first place and instead it is the resentment of the spirits that were killed that has been festering more and more with every generation.

IRL I have seen real curse as a price that must be payed for occultism practice, and yes, curses apply to the children and grand children too. Maybe the author take some reference about curses from all around the world and dramatize it, put some oomph here and there and make us readers debate it over since its not sit well with our values. But hey, its just a fiction manga, I will take it just for fun reading.

@Elmithian Since when do gods need any excuses? They are immortal in the first place. It might seem to them the royal bloodline is one long continuum, not a series of descendants that shouldn't have anything to do with the sins of their forefathers. Though that being said, does the current king look like a man who regrets the sins of his predecessors in your eyes? In my eyes he looks like a person who considers himself 100% righteous and denies any bad deeds of those who preceded him and made him who he is (because no king is a king if they don't have a kingdom, and this current king most certainly didn't build the kingdom, it was handed down to him). He's just a self-righteous revisionist. There's no doubt he's raising his children to be exactly like he is. It very much looks like they haven't even got the bloodiest of idea what's going on with the royals and the spirits. Because they would have rewritten the history to remove such annoying details.

@DrunkinDonut about the curse affecting the royal family, Ellen does see it on all the members (or so I assume) because in this chapter she revealed that overtime she saw the king she saw his curse as well but it just wasn't shown to the readers that she could see it. It could be similar for Agielle too.

Mmm... If I need to leave an opinion about all of this, then I'll say that there is probably a reason as to why neither the father nor the mother told anything to the MC about the true form of the curse. If a I need to guess it's probably on the lines of the same thing that Origin said before, about the MC being too nice (to the point that I even would say that she is somewhat naive for someone that was supposed to have been an adult in the past), and that it would end up with her triying to break the curse, not to help the royal bloodline, but to save the spirits with the grudge, that I assume even Origin has tried to help in the past to no aval, probably the reason being that those spirits can't really forget what was done to them and so they can't pass on. If my theory end up being true, I can somehow understand the angle taken about what to tell to the MC, and given that she is actually and adult in a child body (wich they don't know), even if they would have told her the complete story and also to no try to do anything, she would have stiked to her own moral values and would have tried to help them.

Having said all of that, I also want to point out that the curse being actually the grudge of the murdered spirits is absolutely obviously the way the author though of so that they could manage to justify having the curse removed without it necessarly being to help the royal bloodline, but actually to help those spirits.

Now for a last point, for anyone thinking that it's not the elder prince fault to having the curse explode like that, I'll say that half and half: It is not his fault for the side that it's completely obvious that the king didn't told them anything about the curse (such stupidity and selfishness...), but is also his fault for acting like he could know beter than HER FATHER about MC's health, and acting without any decorum (it was posible to do so while triying to help her) while in front of two major figures of their kingdom (the King and the Hero).

@DrunkinDonut It's likely that even the women of the royal family are cursed in the sense that they also can't use magic and can't form contracts with spirits, but it's possible that the miasma only condenses around the men because of their right to the throne and the simple fact that the original person that had done such horrible things to the spirits to become cursed in the first place was a man. It could still be some kind of oversight by the author, though.

If that prince still acting like an idiot, he will blame MC and her daddy for that miasma ...

@Falgabird Yeah all these psychopaths here are rather scary. They are worse than this Royal Family. .... Sad when the bad guys are less evil/psycho than these readers.
and @Mogima DrunkinDonut did explain it in a good way. But you need to also mention, that the Rumors could be cleared afterwards, but would still cause great trouble and dmg.

Another person mentioned that the Hero (MC´s Father) could work as a stalemate, but he is already doing this, which is preventing things from openly escalating. Next is that we dont know if killing the royals will help with the curse. Depending on the true nature of this curse it could end up absolutely worse. But the moment this conflict gets public and widespread, this whole kingdom will burn, with all of these innocent people within it, including MC's human family.

That the curse is these vengeful spirits ist absolutely obvious by now and explains why Origin and the Hero never explained anything.

If I think how I would like the curse to be would be something: That "spirits" are just their last thoughts sticking to this family and are nothing that can be cleansed/purified. Just like a record of these happenings that sticks like gum. I think that would be an interesting plotpoint.

Hopefully now they realize they're cursed.
It's kinda fucked up that innocent kids have to suffer for the sins of their forefathers and have no idea what or why.
Only the kids though, the prince himself deserves it. He doesn't seem any different from the king that pissed off Origin in the first place.

@jojo1 That is exactly the point - give a hurdle for the characters to overcome and get sympathy from the readers, so when the characters finally overcome it, both the characters and the audience feel satisfied with the outcome. If you remove the source of conflict this earlier on in the story, you end up with no story at all.

That's what happened to W.I.T.C.H. in the comics - after a few villains were defeated, the writers had no idea on what they could do next so they spent a bunch of chapters with a slice of life, episodic formula, and then defaulted to backtracking on the characters' growth when a new villain appeared because there was nothing the girls couldn't handle unless they got nerfed at that point. And they got nerfed in the worst way possible!

I know this is frustrating, but we are slowly getting told why they can't just off the king - there would be consequences for the human side of the family and the nature of the curse seems to be a lot darker and more complicated than what the initial explanation had hinted at. As much as I would love to see that king decapitated, I am enjoying the story so far and how it's progressing. I hope this manga doesn't get axed and needs to end abruptly, so that its story can be told using as many chapters as necessary!

@DrunkinDonut THANK YOU!
I said it before, but some people seem to be allergic to plot! They just want every conflict to be solved with the snap of a finger, but what would happen afterwards? There would be nothing to work towards and the manga would end right then and there. I'm glad people like you still exist.

in earlier chapters, there is no decent plot that makes interesting. But in later chapters show the story have an unexpected progress and unclear intention yet make this manga more interesting to read

There are quite a few problems with the narrative. I think the curse should have been explained a bit more and given more weight before this chapter. Honestly just to spite the people that keep saying kill the royals. I hope the problem with that is that if they do kill them the resentful spirits aren't going to go away, instead they'll just spread out and infect more people like in horror movies.

The problem with our MC, she shouldn't have most of the answers despite her origins, like we finally have a situation where she's out of her depth which is great except its so late in the game. This story is mash up of shojo isekai with op isekai. The issue with that is the mc is so op people don't understand why should doesn't just brute force things. On the other side is the politics arent fun because she IS solving most of the political conflicts by herself. it's a mess.

Seriously, why's so many people here just yapping "just kill the royal family and be done with it? The kingdom will be much better without them."? Guys, it didn't work with Saddam Hussein, what makes you think it will work now?

@kite722 :
if the antagonist deny the curse and blame MC instead for it ?
beside it seems public don't know about the curse, so he can twist it no matter how absurd it is ...
