Because akatsuki has been proven to stockpile before (in this series) and is painfully slow, often releasing months late. All scanlations are pirated, nobody owns a series.

If akatsuki were acting in good faith then maybe, but the previous time they got sniped in this series, they mass released a ton of chapters in an instant right after. How incredibly convenient.

To the people reacting strike or dumb to me: obviously you're pretty new to manga and translations in general, because this is a tale as old as time itself.

Group A translates a series, people are happy
Group B comes along and snipes the series for whatever reason, usually to make a quick profit from donations <--- YOU ARE HERE
Group A's staff is less motivated to work on the series because the process of scanlations is mostly drudgework and not fun, and it's even less fun to work on something that already has a release out
Group A's releases slow down or stop entirely as a result of wasted time and general hurt feelings
Group B stops after a while when they don't get enough donations
Series sometimes goes several months, years, or more without a new translation as group A lost interest, group B was only in it for the money and group C observing the situation wants to avoid the drama and has plenty of other things it can translate

Sigh... guys wait four at least five months or at the very least check with the group who's already doing the scans and translation if they had dropped the series, its considered a dick movie if you snipe it before checking with the OG group who is still active on the series.

Waiting four months is just pure nonsense that should die in a fire. If they had a translation, they would release it in a month, it's not like it's manga with lots of hard-to-translate text.

While I agree sniping an active series is a dick move, the other TL group is known to be extremely slow (almost purposefully i'd say) and if they're not gonna TL (or are hoarding the chapters) then so be it. Maybe it'll pressure them to actually release.

yet again, Akatsuki Scans quite literally released a chapter less than 24 hours ago. not sure how much faster you want them to be then 24 hours. not to mention the fact that, even if you ignore the 3 small chapters they released of the series extras, they released the previous chapter last month and never go more then 3 months between releases.

You are right about no one owing the series however it's called common etiquette between translators to wait more than 3 months since the last update and not following said etiquette is just the sniper being a dick

as stated to the other person, this series has an active translator and they quite literally released 3 small extra chapters less than 24 hours ago. you quite literally cannot get more active than that.

Also please tell me you are smart enough to realize that the monthly releases are because the series releases monthly right? weekly chapters stopped being a thing ages ago for manga.

1: Scanlation is far more than just translation. It takes a small team of people and multiple hours of time to do a 20+ page manga release to a high level of quality and co-ordinating all those people to take that time out of their day to do their part takes time, and sometimes one or more of those people go on holiday or have other commitments or just don't have the motivation to do scanlation on a given day, especially when entitled and ungrateful children scream and whine at them for not putting out new chapters the same day they're released as you have to keep in mind that many people doing scanlation don't get paid and are only doing it as a hobby.

If you want DUWANG tier translations with no editing and all the typesetting being left-aligned Arial font and little to no cleaning that can be done in 20 min, but I guarantee you'll be among the first people to cry and whine about how bad it looks. People have gotten so used to decently good quality scanlation that it's become normal and overlooked.

2: It's not been four months, they released several omake chapters literally yesterday and a full chapter last month. You're basically just complaining that they haven't released every single chapter the day it came out, when you've paid for nothing yourself and you're getting all of this for free.
