Have been following their twitter, and aside from the claim in their pinned tweet, there hasn't been anything substantial or further news about said research. (That being said, their accolades certainly seem without reproach, but we need peer review here!)

this is probably stupid and obvious, but wouldn't they just need 6 branches in total? Then they just have to break them in 3 far enough away places to triangulate where the source is.
