The original Pili, narration, all of the actors, male and female, was voiced by single man while it got a proper voice acting crew in its japanese version. An yeah there were some complaints on how it lost its charm when it got a proper voice acting crew.

Cool trivia and things like that do happen a lot.

When something has charm because we know that the creators of it had to scramble what little resource they had to make it, but then it gets a more mainstream treatment, the "suspension of expectations" is put aside and we start to nitpick.

It doesn't invalidate the opinion that the charm goes away though, but it is what it is.

She is cool and badass. It's mostly that she's NOT used to people being so enthusiastic around her. Her human self was humble, so even though she got used to being something of a feared god, she never got used to being treated with such adoration.
