@revereshin That’s been bothering me for awhile too. As far as the emperor knows, this could be his only child. Even if he isn’t concerned with her coming into conflict with literally every person she meets, he’s got to be aware that the duchess’ ex-lover isnt the only one who would like to kill Rashta or her unborn child. My best guess is that the emperor thinks Rashta is smart enough to stay in her room or request guards when she goes out and she doesn’t because this interaction was calculated to reinforce her status as a victim and further distance the emperor from Navier.
@Ju7777 This is MAJOR spoilers, from the novel, regarding the issue.
Trashta is pregnant, but not by the emperor. She was actually pregnant when the emperor found her, so it was from the son from the old household who got her pregnant and she didn't realize. They just assumed the baby was the emperors when she started getting signs, so they probably did the deed soon after Shitshoe found her.
From what I remember from the novel, Navier and the emperor have tried a few times and gave up, bc the emperor suspected Navier was pregnant from a previous issue from childhood.
The issue from childhood, plus big future spoilers:
When the emperor and Navier were young, their food was poisoned with drugs that can cause infertility. Shitshoe remembered this and thought Navier was the main issue, and maybe him too, so he did not push the issue of having a baby with Navier. When Rashta was pregnant he came to think it was Navier's fault. In reality, the emperor is definitely infertile, because he never got Navier pregnant. However, when Navier marries Heinley, they do the deed on some magic bed or smth that makes conception easier/possible, so Navier ends up pregnant. Shitshoe hears Navier is pregnant and then makes Rashta's child do a DNA test, and it turns out the child is not his (the child looks almost entirely like Rashta in coloring, but I believe its face was similar to the baby that she already had.)
Man i dont like to say anything bady about (fictional ) unborn baby he/she isnt on fault of been a literal bastard but.....MAN I HOW MUCH I WOULD LIKE HER TO MISSCARRIGE
GGGRRRRRRR When will this story finally turn around!?! im getting really frustrated with that rashta referring to herself in the third person all the time and the story is starting to sicken me. But its so good! 😪
And totally agree, Sovieshit is being delusional. I feel just like when I'm on a rollercoaster and you're going up with the excitement for the fall it's about to come 🤩
Well until now I did not think that she was so bad. Bad she is clearly getting greedy and the emperor, instead of stopping her is fanning the flame.
Just as he told her, that her child will never be a price/princess he tells her: 'but IF the empress can't give birth, than she has to adopt your child'
As dumb as she is, she thinks that, the empress will adopt all of her children and that they will still be her own children and just gaining the title of princes and princesses ...
The emperor is the worst her... he always gives in to her. Guess the child will be a boy, the empress will not adopt it and the emperor will divorce her.
BUT that can't be so fast. I mean, she did not have any discussion with 'Queen' about remarring.
I’m all about Navier, but I can’t really hate Rashta either. Like, she was a slave, but was now able to claw her way up to be one of the most powerful women in the empire. I wouldn’t really be mad if she burns the empire to the ground, what has it done for her?
Nah, Rashta is just trying to survive. She is a bimbo for sure, but c'mon, who would not grab the chance by the reins when they can get out of the mud and misery?
She has nothing but her charms so she is trying to secure her position as much as she can.
The one to blame here is Sovieshu.
Can we get Heinley or Kafman back in the show, please? This starts to be boring without them!
@Javra17
I disagree with you, I think she's more interested in her newborn's status as a prince/princess and possible heir of the kingdom than maternal love at this point. Literally all she cares about while talking about the matter in this chapter.
If she did have some sort of maternal love, she would've started caring about the other kiddo she has. Although I'm guessing that she might have some sort of trauma about that. Nonetheless, she deliberately gave up on her other child to maintain her position and not only the emperor's "love" but the status and power she has with it.
