Rename the "Read ## older comments." button at the bottom of the new-style chapter comments

It's confusing/misleading, as with recently posted chapters, the "older" comments in the legacy forum threads are most likely newer than than the ones in the new-style comments thread.

The wording also makes it sound like clicking it this button will take you to the next page of the new comments section, but what it actually does is send you to the other chapter comment thread.

Should be called "view forums" or "discussions" as @shinya78 said, innit?

Edit: There's definitely some room for improvement.
What I need is:
  • Distinction from the mainsite comments. (Since both are separate things which will be maintained together they should also have at least somewhat different terminology. I think that is the main purpose of this thread)
  • Inclusion of the term "forum" or "discussion" ("forum" makes more sense as it isn't a synonym of "comment")
  • The number of posts/replies in the forum thread (this is already a thing but I just wanna make sure)
  • Easy access (more than two clicks and/or having it located at the bottom of the page is not good)
I'm going with the suggestion below.

Throwing my hat into the ring with my own post for rename suggestions as that thread is more about having an easy 1-click access to the forums returned.
I suppose...
What matters, really, is to be able to make that distinction. Though simply leaving it as just "forums" would make it weird grammatically, using a noun as a verb. Maybe "Comment 'Here'(placeholder)" and "Discuss@Forums" or something? I'm sure the MD Hive Mind(tm) would be able to come up with better alternatives.

Hi, I'll be posting here a developer reply regarding this suggestion:
Be explicit about the fact that older comments exist in the forums to prevent confusing it as if you're going to be navigated to the next page of comments.
"Valid. We'll be discussing on the wording side of things and see if we can be explicit with the fact that it is indeed the forums."

So they do acknowledge that there's now two options, the new comments and the forums...and yet they refuse giving us back our quick forums button, for shame! :kappa::haa:

Copypasting from the other (wrong) thread I posted it in:

Behold, a 1 minute solution a junior dev could implement.

And yes, the drawing took longer than the HTML DOM manipulation.
This is not done out of 'not being sure how to resolve it', unless the devs have literally 0 idea about frontend. This is user-hostile design.

I could probably make a TamperMonkey script that moves this link to under the button automagically. I might get around to it today.

Hi, the patch for this suggestion is now up in Canary, here's the changelog:
Renamed "Read N older comments" to a more explicit "Read N older comments in the forums," as with other relevant forum-related buttons.

Still ignores the fact that the new-style comments and the forum comments exist in parallel, and the forum comments aren't necessarily older than the in-chapter ones.

Still, better than it is now.

But don't you need at least someone posting in the 'newest' comments to get access to the 'older' comments ?
