Primal instinct is only shuttered by civility. Showing that these people are savages playing at high-society. Once they get so overcome with their own insipid prestige and power, man or woman, they turn to satisfying their personal cravings only. Everyone else is a play toy, everything else is either something that they own but haven't collected yet, or garbage to be messed with.
Sadly, this is actually very realistic, studies have shown people who have far too much wealth are very prone to this sort of state of mind, a complete disconnect with the human condition. Viewing only themselves and others they personally recognize as human, and all others as objects or livestock-like existences. Increased likelihood if having been born into that wealth and raised in it. Like these nobleborn characters.

Don't be stupid. He lured her out here to rape her. No one's saying he's currently in the middle of raping her, your reading comprehension needs several grades of improvement. They're just pointing out that this is a rape plot, in both meanings of the term.
@BadChase
It's because they're nobles that this sort of thing is common. It was also common among nobles in history. It's still common today with the wealthy elite, just they're a bit better at hiding it instead of relying on shame to keep the other person quiet.

And what would you have done for the same effect? Protective feelings towards women are practically imprinted on us through society, triggering those feelings is a quick way to incite anger and violent-defensiveness in most. So how would you achieve the same result when talking about a bit-part villain who isn't supposed to be around longer than a chapter or two? No time to deeply develop them into some sort of twisted caricature of humanity, a slow process of showing us WHY they are the villain. We have here someone drunk on his own prestige and wealth deciding to indulge his darker craving (likely not for the first time since he did this so smoothly), and he's about to be defeated handily. Within that time frame we now understand he's a huge bastard and deserves what's coming.
Remember, there's no reason to complain about villains being rapists. ... They are, after all, bad people, who do the worst things. And in today's society, rape is practically the only crime worth considering the 'worst' despite that being fundamentally retarded, we still view murder as 'normal' and most people have a hard time getting too upset over it.
