There's no way they can't bring in actual doctors or physicians if they wanted to. Just invite a noble and say its their personal physician, or put them in a crate or something. They can move the sick to a secret settlement. The doctors can just pretend to be normal people. If they can hide a large number of sick people theres no way they can't get in a few doctors.

Instead they want to bring a diplomatically important noble in to treat a currently unidentifiable disease? That sounds wildly irresponsible.

He was exiled from the Mada Empire and he now governs the Exile District of the Tidros Kingdom? This "district" is a territory large enough to appear on a map of kingdoms? Surely there's a translation error. That or they have a much bigger issue of a refugee crisis.

So... The cause of illness was...

Dried fish isn't cooked thoroughly, hm?

It is common that anyone get sick from that. :thonk:
Idk about getting sick but I'm genuinely in the same boat as him. If I so much as smell or see anything fish like on my plate, my entire being rejects it completely. Idk how it started but I know I ate it just fine at one point when I was a brat. I can eat canned sardines but that's as far as I go in terms of eating "sea food".

Not to mention if the female lead encounters problems with all of this, it could turn into a diplomatic disaster with her home country.

The key word of this chapter is "exiled".
Means they would eat anything to survive another day. Similar to slum situation. :nyoron:

Unknown, possibly infectious disease in your kingdom? In some border region, affecting mostly (i'm assuming) poor foreign exiles? Send a prince and his fiancee to deal with it?
Nah, that would be strict (sword enforced) quarantine for the exile quarter + probably forced relocation of inhabitants and burning the slum down + possibly quarantine for the whole region, depending on how the situation is later on.

Its probably scurvy. That's the number one favorite "disease" for an Isekaid person to solve, and its always tied to a population that eats mostly rice despite that not fitting the rest of the setting.

Also I'm with the crowd saying "we don't want to risk people learning we summoned a doctor, so we'd rather risk killing a foreign princess and starting a war" is incredibly stupid.
