I am quite positive Aura would've researched Puyol's fiancé as soon as she heard of his marriage. Little unrealistic to believe that she wouldn't have immediately looked into her top General's affairs when they have such a possibility to impact domestic politics (esp with him being a man of strong & well known ambition).

I didn't even think of appointing Lucinda, but that seems like a really good ideal, to be honest. She's clearly ultra-capable, and Pujol would obviously like to have that sort of influence. But also, she's less likely to cause problems than he is, even if she's offered him her loyalty, and despite her results speaking for themselves, her being a woman would give just enough resistance to keep the good general on the defensive.

He's less likely to have a problem with it even if he gets snubbed for the position too.

I love that in a way, it almost look like Puyol learned from Zenjiro here, about surrounding himself with strong, capable women, and listening to them. XD
I would have never expected to see character growth for such a character, but… it’s nice.
Also, she definitely have a very good head on her shoulder, so yeah, that’s a very fearsome power couple, but I have some hope they can can be trusted… but I tend to be too trusting.
