I thought it would be a more interesting invention, but printing press (burner) is good enough.
Zero hostility here, but I'm gonna be a nerd here and say the printing press would be an amazing invention, it changed our world, literally. We just have been used to it.

That said, a form of printing across vast distances is way more than a printing press. It's more like having snapchat or something. Imagine being able to instant message your forces in the medieval era (and even with magic, this allows laymen to do so, excellent for levied troops). The strategic advantage would be unfathomable. Better yet, the message 'self destructs' by fading away.

My only issue with this tool is how the other side knows when a message is coming. Is the sound of the skin changing loud enough?

I understand your reasoning as well, Japan is supposed to be modern on so many things and yet they still continue using flip phone, fax machine and money bill.

Whereas other countries started to implement emails, smartphone and e-wallets.
Its the same in Germany. According to recent survey 82% of the companies still use fax. Paying in cash is also the most preferred means of payment by people.

They don't have to work 24/7 after all, hence why they live long.
<.< Japan literally has a problem with people dying from over work. Like America's working culture doesn't remotely compare top Japan's. In a lot of Japanese companies you're just expected to stay as long as it takes to get work done. People freakin' sleep at the office because they stay so long they miss the last train, and they don't even get overtime pay rate, a lot of the time they're on salary instead of hourly pay.

That's just details that easy to figure out. For example, the people that responsible for communication can wear bracelets that created in the same way as twin scorched plates. Your bracelets started to heat up - it's a signal that message is coming.

You sort of missed my point; the one who don't have to work 24/7 are those old-farts who owns the companies. I'm saying they live long because they don't have to break themselves down just to make do like their underlings.

Nice question! My guess is that they would have someone monitoring them h24.

My problem with what was shown is that the metal slate would quickly spread the heat and smudge all the symbols: a ceramic tablet would probably be better

We have a really big hate to SevenSea, the way they translate this series is absolute trash and way too many censorship to our taste. Barring simulpub, we'll just continue to provide fan translation and you guys decide which one's better.

Sounds like an early stage printing press to me.

Since the skin color change is based on temperature and thus shouldn't be permanent, this seems more like diptych with timed eraser.

It does make for great secret communication tool though since by default it leaves no paper trail behind.

Especially when SevenSea did the most shit translation that they have to reprint the whole series of LNs that they mess with and their translator have the audacity to mix and slip their "message" into the author's works without their notice.

A lot of them still use Internet Explorer until Microsoft stopped support for it last year. Even then they used IE mode on Edge after that. This bcs government website biased toward IE.
How is it any different from just about any other large, old company? These companies do not want to remake their systems, often holdings millions or billions of data lines, just because a browser stopped being supported. It costs a lot of money and time, on top of risking a massive amount of mistakes during the migration.

Yes, it is the developers fault for building those original systems in such an inflexible way. But they WERE built in that way, so you have to deal with it now.
