Yo, I get that he's being a responsible adult, but this wasn't what the deal he agreed to was supposed to be, and if she actually had any intention to hold up her part of the deal she could have chosen to, but didn't. I'm not saying he's a bad person for doing what he needed to for his new family, or that she's a terrible person for putting the needs of her family and her country first. It's just that they basically lied to tricked him, because she no doubt was smart enough to know going into this whole thing that she would never be able to really hold up her end of the bargain. So the entire premise of their relationship and how is started was founded on what was ultimately a lie and manipulation.
Honestly think you are looking at this from the wrong angle. It's not that the MC was lied to, it's that he chose to take on the responsibilities he has. The only situation he was truely forced into was dealing with the General, and even in that instance, it was the General that forced the issue despite Aura's intent.

  • Oh boy, he's gonna return with that Lucrezia as another concubine candidate with all that time spent on the ship.

Considering that vol 21 cover have a different blue hair lady (unless Freya somehow grows her hair that long in who knows how long until then) I think he's getting another northern lady after him (whether she will be official concubine is up for debate)

He needs to visualize a location to teleport to it. Though he currently sucks at that so he takes pictures on a digital camera and looks at the picture. Aura can teleport without the pictures. Having a prepared room where nothing changes makes it easier but isn’t required.
I’m pretty sure Aura also brought up that this trip would be valuable because it would enable them to teleport back and forth to Freya’s kingdom like they currently can with the Twin Kingdoms.

Magic also need chanting, so it takes some time between the start of casting to actually executing the spell.

Which is why they're skipping all that with magic tool, because in actual emergency there's far too much that can go wrong.

Probably not until after she's been let into his room, has posted her best Mario Kart scores, on each track, and definitively chosen her favorite racer.
Good luck beating the high score of the maids.

The manga skips them, but every volume of the light novels has a chapter focused on the maids in Aura’s palace, and Zenjirou lets them use his stuff and even borrow his DS and take it back to their room. I’m pretty sure Mario Kart has been alluded to as one of the games they enjoyed (they never directly say the names of the games), and I think one or two of the maids’s favorite racers are described.

Well, that's her plan at any rate.

because she no doubt was smart enough to know going into this whole thing that she would never be able to really hold up her end of the bargain.
And he was explicitly smart enough to realise all of that. It's mentioned.

Maybe it's naive, but I believe in the beginning Aura was genuinely sure Zenjirou wouldn't need to be doing anything near as much as he has been doing of late.
Considering a lot of it is because he's willingly been more active in taking on more responsibility than what she thought, I don't think it's naïve.

I’m pretty sure Aura also brought up that this trip would be valuable because it would enable them to teleport back and forth to Freya’s kingdom like they currently can with the Twin Kingdoms.
Yeah, teleporting is a little bit safer than sea travel, after all. And while she's saying it's something that has to be, he's had time to consider whether he want to, and he's not objected to it. If he really didn't want to, I'm sure he'd have said that.

I'm not sure why, since I don't remember reading it, but I get the impression that aside from being cautious about the actual journey, he's also curious about the visit. Or maybe that's just me projecting.

and definitively chosen her favorite racer.

gosh, the last two pages remind me of my final college year :nyoron:

and i can't believe people still complain about Zenjirou doing all these stuffs instead of staying true to the title of the series. look, if he really does nothing and we only see his POV, this story would be absolutely fucking boring. but if he does nothing and we see all the actions from someone else's POV, the same dumb people will definitely complain that "this MC is useless" or some shit. maybe it's time to admit that you don't like where this story is going because you can't self-insert as the chad Zenjirou

Aura spend more time pregnant than not.
They don't have condoms, that's why.
it's because it's the duty of royals to have offspring to succeed the throne. contraceptives would go completely against this. not to mention this is a japanese comic made for the japanese people who are in a birth recession. the will of shinzo abe must be carried on

Technically, they could have stuck to the initial deal. He'd be absent from all public life after the wedding - it would require her to be more heavy-handed in dealing with the dissatisfaction this brought from the nobility, but she's the monarch it can be done. The thing is, they'd most likely not be a real family or couple then. After all, you can't really expect to bond with another person if you're absent from their whole life except in bed. It was made pretty clear in the beggining chapters, that Aura did not expect to really develop affection for him and only did so, because he wasn't dead set on keeping to the drawn lines. It's honestly understandable for him to prefer the hassle: would you want to live as only ever a stud horse, even if it was a luxurious life?

The chapter ends with the typical school experience “Good stuff, but it’s wrong” moment. :notlikethis:
Was that your experience? Mine was more along the lines of "you need a lot more data points!" and that was after spending the entire summer in the lab, getting those thousands of data points. Professors often think that since they can afford to research something for years, their graduate students should have no excuse either...
