As for this chapter, to be honest I am not enjoying this arc at all so far. I think it’s because I don’t care about this new country much and was more interested in them arriving at the princess’s home country. So this feels like an annoying delay to that. Hopefully it will be brief, but this series loves tangents like this

This is the first time we get to see the bigger world. Other time we mostly went around the Southern Continent which is very similar in culture. So this arc is more or less an introduction of sort.

Is the girl on the cover from an antagonist faction? Looks knightly, but chapter 21 has her fighting with Jan.
I feel it's a setup chapter for what will happen in the future. There is no danger to Zenjiro, his family or their kingdom. He could just GTFO and the enemies would be none the wiser. The stakes are much larger in the previous volumes.

Eagerly awaiting the next chapter, but safety first.
