Yes, aware the characters being different birds. It's nonsense in the way it's just chosen for the sounds. "The Cry of" part is added to make it contextually sound more like a finishing move and tie to a rooster cry.
Ah, a shrike. I was thinking the tailor bird, since I was sure the radicals were switched around for shrike 鴃.

Thank you for your valuable correction. In hindsight, should have tried to check if it was a proverb.

Personally, about chapter name(and maybe some idioms in chapter), I will just literally translation and add short meaning around there. (or maybe at end of chapter//or may be long note at end of chapter as you currently do).
Because you can hardly find 100% suitable word replacement between languages, especially idiom.

Because literally wording aim to humor sense(Author tried to add 鳥 anywhere when the rooster shot a cool phase), even though it doesn't make sense somehow when literally translated.
And for short meaning, if reader can roughly understand its meaning would be better.

However, as I stated, it's up to you.
Translation is a kind of communication to reader. 60-70% understanding is fine, but higher it better.
But 100% is never happened, people has difference opinion.

@kskase When possible, I think there should be a balance between meaning and intention. It's not that people should try too hard to make everything funny or shoehorn localize everything into jelly donuts. But especially if jokes have a constant presence in a series, it should be as seamless as possible to raise understanding, plus a note to explain the choice.

Yojijukugo are already quite non-literal but indeed, I don't think there is ever a perfect way to communicate both kanji and furigana in kirakira finishers. Most cases I lean towards the furi.
But in the end both of our methods result in a translation note more often than not and care about the meaning of an string and not the individual characters of the yojijukugo, and not interested localizing left and right, so I don't see either way as horrendously different opinions, really 😊

Nonsense. Sure, she was a bit quick on the rebound, but he left and pretty much said it was a one night stand while doing so. This is why you don't act like a tsundere, y'all. Why should anyone think you aren't being sincere when you're in the "tsun" stage and act like a jerk to them?
