Exactly. If the game had nipples, it would immediately be rated M which would hamper its playability.

If people are upset over this, they should instead lash out against our puritan society which created a strain of people who want the world to look exactly like a 1950s vacuum cleaner ad

Maybe even ESA (European Speedrunner Assembly), however unlikely that may be. That one is nowhere near as popular as GDQ, but it's not like it's completely unknown.

I'd apply this logic to pointless fanservice hotsprings scenes in general. The barbie body topless scene is the worst of both worlds; barely different from full nudity to any prudes reading or trying to shelter their kid, but also lacking much appeal to gooners.

I'm not gonna cry myself to sleep over the lack of nips in a goofy speedrun gag manga but I definitely question why they'd even waste pages on the tropey hot springs scene in the first place if not to sell volumes.

It's interesting how in the 1950s you can see nipples poking through clothing, but you can't see clavicles because they're as bad as cleavage.

Yeah could be, for some reason I thought ESA was later on in the year closer to SGDQ, but I guess February's pretty close to the new year.
