Also, maybe it's just a bad choice of angle, but I like how Maeda had a revelation during the moment of truth after looking at Ruri's ass.

That's Yuka, not Maeda. You know, her blonde "best friend" that somehow got completely sidelined by the the new blonde friend Maeda since far too many chapters...
I have to be honest, I had to look up for Yuka's name. Seriously, are we the only ones having trouble keeping up with the characters and names in this series? The girls look really similar too.
Is this the author trying to give us the true Aoki experience?

She could have become Sub-Zero the Chosen One, but she decided to just make her classmates laugh to find friends. Typical work with artistic potential in adolescence. I went through this too, so I know what I'm talking about...

But seriously, after yesterday's chaptercalypse I'm even a little glad that some manga are published here officially. Thanks, MangaPlus. You suddenly turned out to be really useful.

If, in the future, it becomes impossible for Mangadex to continue operating, it could still serve as an aggregator site for official sources. One of the problems I see with official sites is that their search systems are terrible. Moreover, official sites refuse to use many tags that would make the type of manga clear.

And I liked the ending, since it showed that Ruri is more comfortable with herself and her powers now. So character growth.

I'd argue what she's doing is far more complicated than being class clown and is actually pretty emotionally mature.

That goofy hedgehog move showed that she mastered the ability enough to play with it, and enough to use it around others safely, and that she chooses when it is or is not active.

It also shows she is still just a person willing to joke around, and nothing else has changed. It disarms viewers and helps eliminate fear by making the source of fear amusing.

I think it's showing an increase in emotional intelligence, not a backslide into making herself into a joke. Now she could totally take it too far, but for now it seems to be from a good/healthy place.

She’s got to freeze the school swimming pool to subjugate her new power and the school’s like “fine.” Does she have to clear it with the principal? No, it’s been cleared in advance. Ten minutes of soaking her hands in the water later, she concentrates extra hard, and boom, her ice powers are under control!
