It's cuz he's got abandonment issues - If he solidifies the relationship, it's all the harder if she leaves.
As he is right now, if she dips out, he's not 'attached' in any other way than his own crush, so he wouldn't 'lose' anything in that regard.

This manga has genuinely become so stale and pathetic. I decided to take a break from this for half a year and it still sucks so much. This one fell off harder than Aishiteru Game.

The dialogue and the "wholesome" moments are shit. You want to see how wholesome is properly done, look at Tonikawa and Horimiya. Author is legit running out of ideas so he needed to insert a bunch of random charas, that's how unimaginative he is.

I really hope this garbage gets axed ASAP.
